So, this update has been long-awaited, and I'm so, so, SO sorry for not updating! I don't know why I never worked on this, but I really am totally sorry for not doing anything with this novel. God, I feel horrible! So, I gave you some minor Dandie to make up for it! Whoo, just what everyone wanted! AND you get Andie on a plane again! Even better! Again, I'm really super sorry for not updating. Enjoy! We get the second show next! Also, sorry this is so short!

Chapter Ten

I eyed the jet in front of me warily. I was not a fan of flying, if that wasn't made clear on the trip to Paris. No matter how many times Danny and the others, and even Tressler himself, assured me that I wouldn't even know I was in the air, I was still anxious. I preferred my feet to stay on the ground, thank you very much. To hell with the show in New Orleans.

"Andie, get the lead out of your feet and let's go," Danny's snarky voice called for me. The rest of the group was already boarding the jet. I narrowed my eyes at him, making him sigh. "Please. Please get your ass on this plane."

"Your funeral," I muttered, grabbing my small suitcase and rolling it behind me. We didn't intend to stay in New Orleans for very long. Not worth the flight, in my opinion, but nobody really cared. We had to perform, anyway. I guess it didn't bother me that much.

Danny allowed me to go first, following right after me. I hesitated right at the very entrance, but one rough bump from his hip sent me stumbling inside. As soon as I caught my balance by grabbing onto Merritt's arm, I whipped around to curl my lip at Danny. "Do you have a death wish?" I snarled. "Because I can fulfill it if you do."

Henley rested a gentle hand on my shoulder. "Calm down. We've got a show to perform. We need Danny to do that." I huffed indignantly. Danny smirked. "You can kill him after the last show," Henley continued. Danny's face paled as I laughed triumphantly.

Henley went with Merritt to sit in one of the sections of the plane closest to the pilot. I gave Jack a smile and Danny a glare before following after them. Merritt lounged on a group of seats off to one side while Henley sat on the other with her legs taking up the rest of the space. I pulled my iPod out of my pocket and put one of the earbuds in so I could still hear their conversation. Then I busied myself playing Angry Birds while leaning against the wall. I wasn't interested in sitting down, as hazardous as it was while the plane was taking off.

"Allow me to make plain what we've both been thinking," Merritt said a few minutes after the jet had gotten into the air. I looked up with just my eyes, keeping my face directed at my iPod screen. He wasn't speaking to me; his attention was focused on Henley.

Henley smiled. "And what's that?"

Merritt adjusted his position until he was leaning on his elbows. "Well, obviously you have feelings of affection for Daniel. Unrequited and misguided, owing to his lack of emotional availability." His eyes flicked briefly in my direction. "Consequently, you're very tightly... How should I put it?" Henley raised her eyebrows. "Corked."

I tried not to laugh as Henley gave him a disbelieving look. "Oh, I am?" she shot back.

Merritt gives her a "calm down, I'm not finished" look. "Now, recognizing that you have physical needs not being met, and strictly in the vein of helping a sister out, I invite you to think of me as your own personal corkscrew."

With wide eyes I returned my attention to Angry Birds. Clearly I was not meant to hear this conversation. They didn't seem to mind discussing it with me present, however. Henley was oblivious to my discomfort and looked up at the ceiling. "Wow. Thanks. Let me mull over that offer of cheap and meaningless sex."

"Cheap and meaningless, maybe, but not time-consuming," Merritt responded.

"I'm out," I said, raising my hands into the air. I turned on my heel and walked out into the main part of the jet, past Arthur Tressler, past where Jack was sitting with Jasmine, Tressler's assistant, and over to Danny, who had started motioning for me to come sit with him the minute I walked out. Merritt and Henley's laughter followed after me, but whether it was at my expense or not, I didn't know.
