As the bell rings indicating the end of period 4 and the start of lunch, I trot out of the digital room, down the stairs, and to my usual spot in the quad.
I sit down and place my bag next to me as I wait for my friends to arrive. I suddenly remember about the letter Ms. Darby gave me during mentor time.
I unzip my BTS bag and take out the letter.
Could it be a letter of my songs being accepted? Or rejected?
With trembling hands, I open the envelope and pull out the piece of paper that lay peacefully inside. I start reading it.
Dear Hye Jung,
Hey, I've received your songs. Let me just get to the point. All of them are really good! And none of them have to be changed.
They are unique in their own way. I never knew I will actually be sending a letter to someone who lives in New Zealand. It's crazy! Right now we are in the world of texts, messages and DMs, but I figured I'd go old school for now. If you don't mind, I have a request of my own. I would like you to sing your own songs with me.
It would be too much for me. And I want you to decide the instrumentals to the songs. You made it, so you can decide the instrumentals. For that, you will have to come to the U.S.
If you decide to come, the ticket for your flight is inside the envelope this letter came in. I decided the date for your flight as tomorrow. I'm sorry I booked it too soon, but my company wants everything to be finished as soon as possible. And text me on the number below before you reach. I'll send my bodyguards to fetch you.
