Shiro woke up to a thumping sound figuring out his head was on Matt's chest he calmed down a bit listening to the strong heart beat. He looked up at Matt a few minutes later finding him reading a book.

Matt heard Shiro inhale deeply as he was waking up, Matt's eyes didn't move from the book nor from the hair his fingers were tangled in. He heard the paladin him softly in slight appreciation to the warmth the rebel possessed. His voice was low and slightly gravely when he spoke, "Hunk should be up by now to make breakfast. You can join him if you want?" Shiro felt Matt shiver under him, he made a mental note of it. "Are you going to get up?" Matt asked moving his hand from Shiro's hair to turn the page. Shiro's human hand, which he noticed was in Matt's stomach when he woke up slide up to his chest causing him to shiver, "I mean I have to get up anyways." Matt hummed and placed his book down giving Shiro a look of, give me 5 minutes. Shiro smirked and leans up and kissed him. The kiss wasn't sexually driven, more of a grounding for both of them. Matt knew Shiro needed it more than he did, Matt found the comfort in books but Shiro was too busy for that so anything that could help was dearly appreciated.

Shiro was the first to pull back and Matt was not happy about it. "Come on get up." Shiro hummed and pushed himself out of bed after saying that. Matt wanted nothing to do with getting out of bed so he laid there as Shiro got dressed in grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt. Matt glared and Shiro raised a brow, "Get up. I wanted to watch you cook." The look Shiro gave  Matt caused him to quickly jump out of bed and get dressed.

The two of them went into the kitchen, Matt instantly offered to help and Hunk agreed appreciating the help. Shiro on the other hand bee lines to the coffee, Hunk paying to mind to it seeing how this was how the mornings went. Hunk didn't even try talking to him nor noting the obvious marks on both of them. He just minded his business seeing how it wasn't in his right to ask. He knew Shiro well enough that if something was wrong or he needed to tell the paladins something he would tell them once they were all together so everyone knew. But then again Hunk wasn't oblivious he just played it because he really didn't care unless it affected the team and he would have told them if it did.

As Shiro finishes his first cup he seemingly seemed more awake and cheerier. That was typical. He starting making small talk with both Hunk and Matt, mainly Hunk, curious as to what he did last night and how he slept. Normal formalities he went through daily, much like a dad worried for his kids. That all seemingly changed when Allura came storming into the room.

"Good morning princess how was- ow!" Shiro had just enough time to set his cup down on the table before being pulled out of the room by his ear. The door shutting after them.
"What the hell was that last night." She hissed. Shiro only shrugged, "I told you no to look at the tapes."
"You're going to put everything we've worked for behind you!"
Shiro's shoulders rolled back at that statement, "Are you questioning my capability of leading Voltron because of a relationship? Because that's not particularly fair."
She looked at him furious and scared, "I just don't want us to lose you. I don't like how you and Matt are spending most of your time together."
Shiro relaxed a bit noting her concern, "I do see your point. However I would like for you to note I am finally getting more sleep."
"But you really shouldn't spend your nights together. What if...." she trailed off.
"I don't know how things worked on Altea but I assure you a gay couple can't produce children."
Her eyes went wide, "They can't?"
Shiro chuckled, "No, that's not how our biology works." Shiro placed a hand on her shoulder, "If it puts your mind at ease Matt and I can keep things more private. Probably the most we would do anyways would be a peck on the cheek seeing how I'm always busy."
Allura nodded, "I would like that."
"I would still like to tell the others if you wouldn't mind." Shiro saw that she was still nervous about the idea but nodded.
"Nothing about Voltron will change, the way I act around you or the paladins won't change. I promise."
