Matt woke up for the first time in a long time, alone. Typically Shiro would wake him up with a kiss but this time the paladin was no where. He sat up fully and watched as said paladin walked out of the room's bathroom and he was dressed and ready to go.

Something wasn't right. No good morning kiss. Shiro just prompted it was just a hit of nausea, which happened before so it wasn't new, but he couldn't help but tell that it wasn't just an upset stomach. He didn't eat breakfast either. Matt pulled up the biorhythms of the black paladin and snarled realizing what was wrong with Shiro.

It was at training and Shiro was leaning against a wall trying to hide him being sick. Matt came barging in and glared at Shiro, "You. Me. Bed. NOW!" Shiro blinked perplexed, "I'm sorry.... I'm busy." Matt walked over, "you're sick." Shiro only crossed his arms, "am not!" The rebel placed a hand to his forehead and cursed, "nice try imbecille. You are burning up like the sun. I'm serious go lay down. You also look like shit." Shiro groaned before leaning against the wall his legs giving out as he slid down. His body unable to keep himself upright. Allura and Lance came running over to help the paladin's leader up. Everything in Shiro felt like he was dying and like he was heavy. He hated it. It hurt to move. It hurt to do anything. He was so tired. He continued to slur in a feverish state all the way down to his room. Lance and Matt explaining what was wrong with shiro. Turns out to the Altaens it was a common cold. To shiro this was something his body hasn't experienced.

They reached shiro's room and laid him in bed.  Sleep kept calling for him but he was to fucking stubborn to give in. Shiro only growled at the idea of sedatives to help him sleep for once. Much to Matt's surprise Allura suggested it. It was something shiro needed for health and at least it was something they could do to make him sleep. He wasn't going to he was too god damn stubborn. Matt sighed sitting down. Lance smiled at him, "Hey. If you need anything I am willing to help." Matt smiled and nodded. Lance placed a hand on his shoulder. "Rest. Pidge, Hunk, and I will keep an eye on him. Seriously you need to rest." Matt nodded and got up, "wake me up if anything bad happens." Lance nodded, "I promise." Matt then left the room.

3 hours later Shiro woke up to Lance being in the room. He glanced over, "What are you doin'." He slurred slightly the sedatives still in his system. He felt like he got hit by a train. Lance smiled a bit, "Watching you." Shiro huffed and stared up at the ceiling before deciding that was a bad idea. He closed his eyes. The world was spinning and it fucking sucked. "Lance?"
"Ya-"
"I need to throw up."
Shiro has never heard the boy move so fast as he picked him up. Wow Lance was strong. He moved him to the bathroom. Shiro slumped down to the floor and threw up. Lance moved over and rubbed his back sitting next to him after grabbing a cold washcloth and placing it on his neck. That cold washcloth felt like heaven to the paladin.

Once done Shiro spat into the toilet and leaned back placing a hand on his stomach closing his eyes. The castle walls felt cold. It was so nice. Shiro felt like he was on fire. Lance cleaned up quickly before sitting back down rubbing his arm. It was soothing. "I didn't know you knew how to take care of someone like this." Shiro commented. Lance sighed softly, "I helped around the house. This is normal. Probably why I'm not squeamish anymore about anything really." Shiro chuckled softly before coughing. He gave up on showing too much emotion like this. Lance didn't move he only sat there. He looked so concerned. "I'm fine." Shiro hummed softly. "No you're not. Look. I understand you are the head of the team but you can't just expect me, or any of us to worried when you're sick." Shiro sighed moving to get up before being stopped, "You good to move?" Shiro sat up more, extreme nausea slapped him again and he emptied the remainder of the contents in his stomach. Dry heaving. He didn't even notice that matt entered the room.

Shiro groaned and leaned back and Lance cleaned up again. Matt walked into the bathroom and sighed softly. Shiro looked up at him. His face had dots all over from capillaries bursting mainly visible around his eyes. His face was so pale his scar looked so pink. So did the rest of them. He looked in pain gripping his stomach. Lance glanced back at Matt. "He at least threw up." Lance commented. Shiro got up shakily. Matt helped him back into bed and he hummed a thank you. He laid back down. Matt turned to leave when he was stopped by a feverish hand, "Stay. Please." Shiro sounded so broken. Lance paused in his steps as he was cleaning still. Matt smiled, "what would you have me do?" Shiro shrugged, "just..... I don't know. Please just don't leave me." Shiro frowned. Matt smiled and sat on the bed next to him, "later can we move from here?" Shiro asked. Matt smiled. "Of course.... if you sleep." Shiro nodded his eyes heavy as Matt ran his hands through the paladin's hair. Lance watched as  shiro fell back asleep.
"You should still rest."
Matt shook his head. "I'll work from here. It's fine, I checked it's not anything contagious." Lance looked confused, "what is it?" Matt smiled, "His body gave up on him. He has been so stressed that his body made itself sick to make him step back and wait. This isn't the first time." Lance looked at him confused, "Its not?" Matt shook he head, "The beginning of the month before we left for the Kerberos mission he got sick. From stressing too much. As you can tell. This is what happens. He should be fine in 2 days." "I'm not worried about his c-" matt cut Lance off, "You took the first 3 shifts. You are worried don't lie to me. Look he will be 100 percent fine. He just need to rest. He will be bored the third day but I won't let him get up so be prepared to draw on him." Lance raised a brow, "draw?" Matt smiled, "Allura showed me what you could do. He would enjoy it." Lance nodded and walked out.

(Headcannon Lance being an older brother used to draw for his siblings slowly becoming a great artist and can replicate anything he is told or seen. He showed Allura as an attempt to impress her but she ended up crying because the flowers he drew were so realistic. Yah I'm putting it in here cause it's cute!)
