Kill or be Killed

Chapter Ninteen

A couple of miles back the van had ran out of gas. I was surprised it lasted this long. We were walking through the woods since there was a heard of Z's.

Maddie didn't wont to risk the chance of killing them in case one of us got hurt. It finally stopped snowing and we could see the grass.

We soon came up to an old wooden cabin. It was like those cabins you see in horror movies. The cabin was small, with a small set of stairs going to the door. The stairs only consisted of four steps.

Maddie and Laura went inside first to check everything out. They came out signaling it was fine. Ever ran inside and I followed her.

But as I came in contact with the third step I slipped and fell backwards into Jr. So me and Jr tumbled down the stairs on our backs while Bennett and Conner were laughing at us

"Blake" Jr wined, very girly I might add

"Sorry. It was slippery" I sat sitting up dusting the snow out my hair

"I dont understand how Ever ran up the stairs and didn't fall" I said complaining

Jr sat up helping me get the snow out of my hair so it doesnt become wet "girl, I dont even know. Shes like a monkey"

We finally stood up with a complaining Jr and two laughing hyenas. "Girl my back"

"Oh your fine" I told Jr

"I took the fall for both of us"

"True true. Sorry. You fine?" I asked knowing I feel ontop of him

"Girl I know I'm fine" Jr said acting like he was wipping his hair back

"I've never seen you act more gay then right now" I said quietly

"Omg! Did Conner notice?" He asked worried

"Stop saying omg! And no he didn't. But you should tell him the truth, he will understand"

"I cant. He will think of me as a mouse" he said putting all his weight on one foot and the back of his hand on his forehead

"Now you look even gayer" I told him, squinting my eyes from the sun

"Is gayer even a word"

"I dont know" I really didn't know, its sounds like a word

"Oh God help me" Jr cried out

"I-I c-cant stop l-laughing" Bennett said now on the floor rolling around like a child

I just rolled my eyes " Jr, he will love you no matter what. Hes your brother, he cares for you, he loves you"

"Why did you say love like that?" He looked confused

"What do you mean?"

"You sounded like you were disgusted by it" he told me

"Stop changing the subject. Let's go in and eat, I'm starving" I said walking back into the cabin

"Me to"

We went inside totally forgetting Bennett and Conner. The cabin was small. You walk in and it's one big room.

To the far left conner is a stove and counters. Beside that was a small fire place. And beside the fire place was a mattress.

To my left was a small couch and a two seater table. But luckily in front of the couch was a air mattress. To the right behind the front door, was another door to a tiny bathroom.

I went and layed down on the mattress on the far right corner. Laura was already making some food for us, while Maddie sat up the fire place.

Then came in Bennett and Conner. Bennet spotted me right away and came to lay down with me. I turned to my side facing him while he was on his back.

Conner went to seat on the air mattress and when he did he plopped down onto it making Ever shoot up in the air, landing back on the mattress. She went into a fit of giggles say 'again, again'

On the mattress was a furry grey blanket made for a king sized bed. I pulled it over me and Bennett and snuggled into it.

Jr was layed out on the couch, shoes off and everything. He was already snoring. Guess that fall made him tired.

"Food is ready" Laura said sitting it on the table with paper plates and plastic forks.

"Where did you get this stuff?" I asked about that plates and forks

"The forks were in a box in the cabinets. And we've had these plates for a while now" she must have notice my face when she talked about the forks

"The box was completely sealed shut"

"Oh thank God. I would of had to eat like a dog" I said as she chucked

I went up got a plate and fork putting food on my plate. We had pinto beans, corn, and ham that was in a new container that you would get at the store. And for drink we had water.

I went back to the mattress and sat criss cross. Bennett soon following with Ever trailing behind him. As we ate, we were all silent shoving our faces with corn and beans.

Maddie got the fire set up and we were all laying down. Me, Ever and Bennett on one mattress. Maddie and Laura on the air matress, and Conner and Jr sharing the small couch.

The room was lit up with the fire which made it warm and welcoming since there were no windows. I hadn't felt this relaxed in years.

"Mom. Can I sleep with you?" Jr asked

"Of course baby" she said in a babys voice

Jr got up and snuggled with his mom. I silently giggled at that. If my mom were here right now I would snuggle with her. I missed her very much.

"Does Jr want his mommy" Conner said in a babys voice

"No! I just dont like sleeping in front of the door" Jr argued

Maddie tied the door knob and hammered a piece of wood to prevent anything coming in. He also decided to put the couch in front of the door also.

"Sure" Conner said sarcastically

After that it fell silent. Ever, who was in the middle of us was already a sleep. I layed on my side as she hugged my left hand against her chest as if it were a teddy bear.

Bennett was laying on his back looking up at the selling. He looked like he was in deep thought.

"Goodnight Bennett" I whispered closing my eyes

"Goodnight Blake"
