Chapter Five: The Call

In the middle of class, amidst the boring words of Mr. Brown, Jughead felt his phone vibrate from the pocket of his pants.

"Excuse me sir, but I have to take this call," said Jughead to his Professor, who just rolled his eyes, which meant a yes.

"Hello?"
"J-Jughead?"
"M-mom?"

Jughead couldn't believe it. After years of disappearing, she calls. He was outraged. But, he didn't want to hold a grudge on someone who was important to him, especially his mother.

"Jughead, you need to come here. Your sister, she's—"
"She's what mom?"

He suddenly felt worried. He knew that something was wrong.

"She's dying, Jughead. You need to go here. Please." she said, and hung up.

That was all it took for the world to stop. Everything seemed so, so wrong! He just felt like crying until he had no more tears. But he knew, he had to be there for Jellybean. Because she needed him the most.
