"What do you mean you guys don't sell the pumpkin spice latte anymore?!" a very angry woman yells in front of me. "This is an outrage! I demand you let me speak to your manager!"

"Lady just shut up! It's not the poor cashier's fault that the store doesn't sell those anymore. Just pick a different drink and leave," I spit angrily.

"Ugh, whatever, I'm never coming here again!" she says snottily, storming out of the shop.

"Good riddance," the man behind me mumbles.

I snort and turn around, ready to agree with him before I realize that it's my target, David. Quickly regaining my composure, I mumble that I agree before turning back around.

"Hey wait, aren't you the girl that ran into me the other day?" he asks, tapping my shoulder.

"Oh uh, yeah I am. Hi again," I stammer, a forced blush creeping onto my cheeks.

"Hi."

I can tell the conversation has ended when he looks back down at his phone.

Soon after, it's finally my turn in line and I order quickly.

"Hi, what can I get for you today?" the barista asks politely.

"Ah, yes, can I please get a plain black coffee and a blueberry muffin?"

"Okay, one blueberry muffin and plain black coffee. What size would you like your coffee?"

"A small please," I tell her, and she puts my order into the computer.

I go to sit down at an empty table, when I see James walk in. Obviously ready for work, he starts tying an apron around his waist, before something, or should I say someone, seems to catch his eye.

I watch as James walks over to the back of the line, next to David. David starts talking to him tiredly and I strain my ears to try and hear what they're saying.

"Dude, I am so tired. I got absolutely no sleep last night," David mumbles while pushing his phone back into his pocket.

I quickly pull out my own phone and start recording, making it look like I'm just scrolling through social media.

"Same 'ere. I had to work late last night since Shelly couldn't come in," James says, looking exhausted.

"Jeez, dude. I know you like working here and all, but you really have to give yourself a break once in a while," David yawns.

James looks as if he's about to say something but I see through the camera of my phone that he's noticed me.

"As much as I like talking to you, I think I would rather talk to the cute girl that's behind you," James says, patting David on the shoulder.

"Really dude? What happened to bros before hoes?"

"In this situation, you're the hoe."

David gasps in mock offense and squints his eyes. "I'll have you know that if anyone here is a hoe, it's you.

"Alright, Alright, I'm sorry," James says, hitting him on the shoulder.

"I'll see you later then?"

"Yep."

This could be useful, I could use James to get to David. This just could work. I quickly exit out of the camera app, clicking on Instagram right as James approaches my booth.

"Oh, hey James!" I giggle, looking up from my phone.

"Hey. I saw you here lookin' lonely and just wanted to say 'ello before my shift starts."
