I got out of there as fast as I could. Girlfriend? Is this why he hasn't talked to me in two months? He couldn't face me because he was seeing someone?
"Why didn't you tell me?!" I snapped when I got back into the house and slammed the front door shut, making everyone jump in the seats and look at me.
"Emmie, what's the matter?" Aunt Milly said.
"I just met Mica, Kendall's girlfriend." I said. All three looked at each other. "Why didn't any of you tell me?"
"We didn't know how to tell you." Dustin said. "Especially when he cut you off because of the girl."
"He cut me off because he got himself a girlfriend." I corrected Dustin.
"No, they haven't been dating very long." Kevin said. "To be honest I think she is just to get Kendall's mind off of you."
"Off me?" I asked. "I'm pretty sure his mind is way off me."
"Emmie." Aunt Milly said.
"I have a break coming up don't I?" I asked.
"Yes after next week. You've got two weeks off from school." Aunt Milly said.
"I want to go to Grant." I said. "I want to go see my dad."
"Emmie, that is not a good idea." Aunt Milly said. "Remember the reason you moved here. Your dad wants you away from all that. He won't approve of you coming for a visit. I'm going to have to say no."
"That's completely unfair!" I shouted. "You can't keep me from seeing my father!" I stormed up the stairs. Fine, if she won't let me go see him with her permission I'll just have to go see him myself.
