Broken Promises

I promised I'd stay on the porch while talking to Kendall. Well, I kinda broke that promise. It's Kendall's fault really. After I sat down next to him. He said one word and then went silent. I thought he was just trying to get his thoughts together, but then he grabbed my hand and not in the romantic way either and pulled me to his car.

"Get in." Kendall said in a demanding voice. I just stood there. Is he serious right now?

"Kendall I told my aunt I'd stay on the porch." I said. "I promised."

"I said get the fuck in!" Kendall snapped, making me jump. I didn't think he'd snap that loudly. Not wanting to actually anger Kendall, I quickly slipped into the passenger seat. Kendall got into the car. Without a word Kendall backed out of his driveway and down the street. I bit my lip as I looked behind me, watching my house disappear as Kendall drove off.

The drive was long. An hour and counting. It wasn't comfortable either. It was awkward. This has got to be the most awkward situation I've ever been in. No one said anything. Kendall starred at the road ahead, his hands held the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles were turning white. I starred out the passenger window. I watched as buildings flew by in a blur/ Buildings turned into building and trees and eventually just trees. All I saw was trees and wide open spaces as Kendall slowly stopped the car. There was nothing for miles. If Kendall wanted to kill me right now he could. There were no cars going by. No one would hear me scream. It was silent as I looked out. That is, until he spoke.

"I'm sorry."
