The Next Day

I woke up to an empty bed. But I definitely remembered falling asleep with Lisedi in the bed. She was far at her end, and I was desperately waiting for her to cuddle up to me. Sadly, it never happened.

After morning rituals, I made my way downstairs, only really interested in where my girlfriend was. The smell of food drew my attention, though. I made my way to the kitchen to see Diana on the stove. Not only was Diana in the kitchen, but Lisedi and Future were in there too.

Lisedi was standing by the counter, cutting up a papaya, entertaining a conversation with Future. I sighed. Was I really going too far with my thoughts? She said nothing was going on between them. I trust her.

"Are you hungry?" Diana gazed at me.

I nodded, "Yes, I am."

Lisedi looked up at me before looking back at Future. No greeting. No kisses. Nothing. Was she that disgusted with me?

Diana motioned me to walk over to her. I did so.

I watched as Lisedi shared the fruit with Future. I wasn't feeling that. I honestly didn't want her anywhere near him. But I guess I didn't have a say because I was the one she didn't want to be around the most.

"I made your plate first," Diana smirked, grabbing it.

"Thank you," I held my hand out as she placed my food in my hand.

"I'll bring you something to drink. Where will you be eating?"

"The TV room upstairs."

She smiled, probably recalling what happened yesterday, "Oh. That room. I got it," she turned her attention back to the food on the stove with a small smirk on her face.

I noticed Lisedi watching us from the corner of her eye but not saying a thing. I shook it off as I walked out, making my way to the room. She had Future. She didn't need me.

I surfed through channels until I just decided to keep it on ESPN. Nothing else was really on.

A knock at the door.

"Yes?"

"It's me," Diana's voice yelled.

"Come in," I focused my eyes on the TV.

She walked inside with a glass of iced orange juice. Her body was amazing as I watched her walk towards me. But I wasn't into it. Yesterday was yesterday. I was in a bad moment and she took advantage. It'll never happen again. And I'll make sure of that.

"Thank you, again," I gently grabbed the glass of orange juice from her.

"No problem, papi. I know you saw what I saw, by the way. You know I'm alway here if you ever need anything," she turned to walk away but I quickly grabbed her by the hand. She spun back around.

"We have to talk," I whispered to her.

"About?"

"Yesterday," I stared at her, "We can't discuss it. You can't make small comments hinting at it. We need to pretend it never happened and keep our contact at a minimum. Okay?"

"Oh," she folded her arms, "You don't want her finding out, huh?"

"Obviously not. And trust me you don't either. Besides, I'm trying to make things between me and her good again, so just cool it. Be professional when it comes to me, got that?"

She nodded, "Fine. That's fine. Can I go back to work now?"

"Go ahead," I sat back before drinking some of the orange juice.
