There Is A Light

Saturday Night

By 11 this morning the girls were out the door and I run up the stairs to clean up.

*2 hours later*

After cleaning the entire house, just in case my mother decides to come tonight or early tomorrow morning, I finally head back upstairs to take a shower. Tonight I finally see my big brothers, it feels like it's been ages since I last saw them, but in reality it's been more than a month.

I'm jamming out to my jams in the shower, each single song in my playlist making me sing and dance in the shower.

Once I'm done I quickly blow dry my hair and turn on my straightener and curly iron. I go over to my bed and check my phone for messages. I see one is from Cedrick.

"hey kiddo, we thought we should meet up at cheesecake? Same one. We can't wait to see you!"

I smile and reply back that I'll let them know when I'm on my way. Going back to the restroom I straighten my hair and curl the tips, then spray a ton of hairspray. Every time I use hairspray it reminds me of the movie. Only thing missing is Zac Efron. But a girl can dream...

It's 3 o clock by the time I'm finished, I decide on my black lace dress with my black heels, totally original but I usually only buy black dresses except a few others that are different colors at the back of my closet.

My mom still hasn't come home yet some I decided to call her up to see if she would be here tonight.

The phone keeps ringing and ringing until finally,

"Hello? Allura is that you?"

Oh lord she's probably tipsy, "Yeah mom, when are you coming back?" Keeping it simple and short so she won't ask too many questions.

"Oh I'll be back tomorrow sweetie. Don't worry everything will be easy peasyyyy baby!" Good grief what goes on in Palm Springs?!

"Okay mom byeeee!"

Running downstairs I quickly order an uber to go meet up my brothers. Cheesecake Factory is one of my favorite places to eat at, it could easily be in my top five. I quickly send a text to my bffls telling them after Cheesecake Factory I will meet them up outside so that we can go celebrate my birthday.

Unknown Number: hello. It's your uber driver, I am right out side.

I jump up from the couch and grab my purse, turning off the living room light, leaving the kitchen one on and heading out to my uber.

My uber driver is a lady, and she made small chit chat along the way to the restaurant, which wasn't that far from my house but it's LA. You always have to leave early so that with traffic you get to your destination exactly on time or even later.

As we got closer to the restaurant I started to feel a little nauseous, all these nerves that I suddenly got. I texted Cedrick that I was almost there, and he responded that they would wait outside for me. My nerves are up the wall once I see Cheesecake Factory coming up, my hands getting clammy and then I start to rub my hands together making them even clammier. She drops me off by the curb and I quickly say thank you while getting out of her car. I squint around trying to see Cedrick and Dom, of course there would be a lot of people walking around, it's Saturday. Then I finally see a familiar face, Cedrick.

I don't waste any time and I'm sprinting to get to him. Tears already making its way down my face. He finally sees me coming and makes his way opening his arms.
