"Well say something Allura, Andrew is now part of the family."
I feel like I've been slapped across the face. Stabbed in the back. By my mother. The woman who has pushed out my two favorite guys in the world, who has never been supportive since the day dad walked out. Who really hasn't been supportive to begin with.
The one who just told me that she got MARRIED. Without her daughter? She didn't even bother telling me. You would think that my mother would want her only daughter on her special big day, I cannot believe that she didn't invite me, or at least tell me what was going on.
Now I stare back at her, wondering, thinking about what I am going to tell her. Because believe me when I say that the stuff that I'm thinking of right now is not pretty and would probably cause more drama than good. But I also couldn't just say oh congrats because I don't like Andrew, he creeps me the fuck out. Second I'm hurt that although our relationship has been rocky, she didn't tell me about this weekend.
So all I could say or what I really wanted to say was, "you made a huge mistake."
My mother was taken back, in other words she was...shook. I couldn't look at her anymore so I ran straight up to my room locking the door, blasting music to drown out the yelling that started as soon as I left. The only person I could think of to call was my ace, Dominick.
After the third ring he finally answers,
"Allura?"
"Hey Dom, I umm.. I just really need to see you and I know you can't pick me up here, so can we meet somewhere? Please?"
"Hey, it's okay, I can pick you up down the street. We just aren't ready to see our mother yet you know that ace right?"
"Yeah I get it Dom but things will be worse now, I'll explain it all when you get here but please hurry."
"Sure kiddo, I'm already on the way I'm calling Cedrick to meet us."
"Okay I'll see you soon."
Hanging up the phone I quickly run to my dresser and pick out my light wash jeans and green knit sweater, putting on my white converse. While waiting for Dominick to pick me up I sent a text to my friends telling them what happened, they made me promise to call them later.
15 minutes had passed when Dom texted me he was two minutes away, grabbing my bag I open the door and peek out in the hallway, making sure to let a minute pass in case anyone popped out. Closing my door I run down the stairs taking two at a time, opening the front door I quietly close it before going down the driveway to meet Dominick.
I see his car a few houses down and panic starts to set in, now I'm running to his car, tears threatening to come down my face but I hold them in like a champ. Soon I'm in his car shaking with fear? Anger? Sadness? It could be all three. Dominick sees me struggling to keep my emotions in and asks, "hey kiddo, what happened?"
That's all it took, then I was crying unable to speak, but Dom being the best big brother ever, waited for me to take my time. After five minutes I calmed down but still had tears coming out, "She married him Dominick."
My brother's face went from confusion, fear, anger and deathly furious, his hand grabbing the steering wheel turning white.
"We need to go before I go in there and bring the whole house down."
Dominick drove off racing to where we had my birthday dinner and my favorite place, Cheesecake Factory. Not long after we were parked, walking over to the restaurant where Cedrick was already waiting. Cedrick sees Dom and I walking over and quickly pulls me in a hug. "How's my not so little lady?" Looking up at him I just shake my head turning back to go put my name down.
