Girls Just Want to Have Fun

We all hop into Ray's car and blast music, singing our hearts out. I'm really excited because truth be told this is my first college party! Or party ever, unless again we count middle school but I'm going to say that doesn't count. Ray and Nora are just as pumped but of course Ray is a bit nervous. How can I tell? Well she has a tell, just like I have one and Nora. When Ray is nervous she'll chew on the inside of her cheek or her lips but it's usually the inside of her cheek (which she's doing right now) but she's trying to hide it. Nora's tell is fixing her hair constantly, which usually she'll move her hair from one side to the other. My tell is I rub my hands together a lot, which will make them clammy.

Ray lowers the music and sets up a plan, "Okay so when we get there we go straight for the snacks since I can't drink so I at least want to get in on all the good food."

Nora and I agree but then I tell Ray, "Well you guys know I don't really drink and I don't want to wake up tomorrow with a headache since I'm meeting Dom and Cedrick. So it's cool if we don't drink, we'll still have a good time."

We all arrive at Dylan's place which is huge compared to any of our houses. It's blue and white with big gates and a huge front yard. Ray parks her car about five houses down so we didn't have to walk that far. Going down the long driveway we see loads of people, the front door to the house is wide open and I can hear the music from outside. I'm in awe of the whole thing.

Stepping inside Dylan's house is like stepping inside of Architectural Digest, it's so beautiful. I just hope no one messes anything up or breaks anything. The thought of that is giving me anxiety. But we push our way to the kitchen where there are bowls of chips, salsa, candy, and a big bowl of spiked punch I assume. There are also cookies and a number of other junk food items on other counters. I grab some of the skittles and grab a soda. Ray already has a plate with everything possible and Nora is sipping on soda as well.

"Heeeey you made it!"

I hear Dylan before I see him and turn around, he's wearing blue jeans with a white t shirt and a cap. Oooo Ray better get to steppin because I'm not going to lie Dylan is attractive, and I can feel the tension coming off other girls in the room.

This is my chance.

I yank Ray and push her in front of me and Nora follows right behind her.

"Hey! I brought my friends Nora," I point to her and she has this huge smirk on her face, "And this is my friend Raven." I kind of push her more towards him and he smiles, "It's nice to meet you guys! I feel like we've seen each other before." I'm silently praying Ray says something but to my surprise Nora laughs and says, "Well we did go to high school together. We just didn't really talk then." Realization dawns on Dylan's face and he laughs, "Yeah!! I knew we've seen each other before. Did you guys want a drink?" I shake my head, "We don't but my friend Raven here did mention she wanted water and I didn't see any out on the counters." Raven turns around to look at me but Dylan quickly responds, "Oh yeah sorry about that! I left them in the back yard in the coolers I could show you where."

"Cool thanks, Raven can you bring me one too?"

And I smirk at her while Dylan leads her out of the kitchen. "Allura you are baaad!" Nora is laughing and I can't help myself either. We both know Ray will thank us later.

It's been about two hours since we got here Ray has been talking to Dylan (high fiving myself) and Nora is a bit tipsy since someone asked her to play beer pong and poor Nora can't say no. Thank goodness they both are staying over tonight because I'd worry about them.

I walk out to the backyard to get some fresh air and notice Dylan has a swimming pool so I went over to dip my feet in the water and looked around at the crowds of people.

"You look so lost in your thoughts."

I turn around and see Jake . He also went to my high school, we had Econ together but i never liked him he had that bad boy vibe, and not the "hot" bad boy vibe, the other kind.

"Oh I kind of was. Just tired I guess." He comes and sits right beside me, toooo close for comfort. I scoot over a bit. Then I smell all the alcohol and possible vomit coming from his breath and/or clothes. Gross.

"You looked so damn hot lost in that pretty little head of yours, looking like a goddess with those eyes." Now this is a major red flag bye got to go boiiiii. First he's drunk and acting all fresh. Not today. I move over a few inches and he grabs my hand rather roughly, "I always thought you were hot Allura. Even back in high school but damn you were so hard to talk to." I try to pull my hand from his grip but he keeps a tight hold on it.

Oh hell no.

"Yeah Jake that's because I didn't want to talk to you. Now let my damn hand go." I yank my hand away and quickly grab my shoes and leave him.

Eww good grief I come outside to get some damn fresh air and Jake tries to make a damn move like that! I have goosebumps all over and go to find my besties.

After what seemed like ages I found Nora in the living room sitting on the couch talking to some girls, and then I found Ray in the kitchen with another plate of food.

"You'll never guess who tried to get all fresh with me!" Ray immediately says, "Was it Jake?! Because if it was hold me back dear Jesus."

"Yeah it was!! How'd you know??"

"I know everything remember! Just kidding but no, Dylan said that a girl also complained about him, something about him being aggressive. So Dylan asked him to leave."

"Is the girl okay??" Ray puts a cookie in her mouth, "Yeah she said that nothing really happened except for that. That boy is trouble even in high school, I don't even know how he graduated."

I nod and grab a chip from her plate.

We find Nora, tipsy and giggling, and then danced a little, we talked to the girls Nora were talking to and it turns out that there were people from three other colleges. One of the girls went to our school and had a class with Nora. Dylan came by again and talked to us for a while and of course Ray talked to him and they both laughed about everything. I was just enjoying my chips that I got and talked, well tried because she kept laughing, to Nora about Jake.

It was about 1:30 am when we decided to leave, Ray was bummed because before we left Dylan went to go socialize with other people and she didn't get to say bye. Nora was falling asleep already and I was ready to sleep too.

As soon as we got home Nora ran to the bathroom and threw up, and I grabbed water bottles, made wet towels and helped Ray change Nora's clothes because she was already falling asleep again. We helped Nora lay onto the floor I covered with blankets and pillows, she knocked out as soon as her head hit the pillow. Ray and I got ready for bed and then laid down on my bed. We stood up later talking about Dylan and what Jake had done. Of course Ray was angry talking about kicking him in the balls and that if she saw him god knows what she'll do. Ray thanked me for pushing her to talk to Dylan because they got to talking and found out they had loads in common.

By 3 am Ray knocked out and I was still up thinking about how my day would go with my brothers. I also thought about my mother, she hasn't called so I decide to call her tomorrow morning, well technically today. Closing my eyes I fall asleep and dream of nothing...
