Storyline

This chapter is to explain the prophecy and the importance of some of the things that are going on. If you have a question, leave a comment or message me.

The Prophecy

The Prophecy speaks of a Dragon Spawn who unites the other gears and becomes the Dragon King. Then he takes a bride to produce the next heirs to the throne. The pieces are scattered amongst the bloodlines of these heirs. However, they all appear at the same time so the gears are never separated.

Where does Kenta fit in?

Of course, Kenta is a Dragon Spawn. Naturally he fits in this picture. However Kenta is a Devil. Converted from Kaede and added into her court. This creates a big problem. Because this means he's half devil and the other half is his Dragon Spirit. If his wife isn't a pure being or not Holy then the heirs have the chance to be fully demonic. Which could be used to turn them against Heaven or the Dark Angels. Causing another war and creating another an unstoppable army.

Why are the Holy Knight always after Kenta?

Kenta is the Dragon Spawn, so naturally he's under tight surveillance by the Church. Heaven was given the right to make sure war never starts again, so the Dragon Spawns spawning after the war is naturally their job to watch. Kenta being converted to a Devil was a happening that was never predicted. Usually if the gear owner is killed by an outside force other than another owner than it's passed onto another person in the bloodline. The Knights make sure no one intervenes in the battles and make sure the Spawns don't go crazy with their powers. They're the referees of the big game where the winner becomes the Dragon king.

Why does Alice always call herself Kenta's bride if he's dating Kaede?

The Church has noticed the demonic presence in Kenta. They normally wouldn't care if another Devil was located, but you have to remember that Kenta is a Dragon Spawn. If his children are born with a demonic presence in them, they could be manipulated by the Devil King. The Church knows this and chose Alice to be Kenta's bride to cancel out this presence and create neutral offspring.
If he was to marry Kaede and create pure demonic heirs, there could be the possibility of another war and corruption.

Why are the Dark Angels after Kenta?

1. He had a hand in killing the girlfriend of an alpha Dark Angel. He's got a vendetta and a target on him.

2. The Dark Angels still want to serve God despite being kicked out of Heaven and forced to walk Earth. If they were to kill a Dragon Spawn and stop the gear from finding a new heir then the other gears would disappear to reappear sometime in the future. It's the screwed up way of stopping another war.

Why are there multiple Excaliburs instead of just one?

Think about what happens if you drink too much water. You get sick with water poisoning, and if you continue to drink despite that you could die. Same principle with the Excaliburs. The original had a ton of power in it. The Church knew this and in hopes of ending the war, they chose orphans to try and control the blade and create the ultimate Holy Knight.

However, Excalibur couldn't be controlled. Anyone who tried was overwhelmed and killed or grew too weak from fighting for control of it and died. The Church broke Excalibur down into 10 shards and created a new sword with each piece. Essentially creating blades safe to wield. There's your safe amount of water you need to live. The war ended before they could be used though.

What is this "war" we keep hearing about?

The Great War was a three way battle between The Devil King, Heaven, and the Fallen Angels or Dark Angels. The war was horrific and all three sides lost thousands of soldiers. This is also where risky projects and tactics began to be implemented. Like the Church's Project Excalibur, Devils converting humans to make quick soldiers and replenish fallen Demons, The Church's Project (entry removed), and many more.
