»Chapter 17«

I woke up with Shawn next to me. I watched him as he slept. It was so adorable. I let out a tiny laugh. Then he opened his eyes and smiled.

"What?" he asked.

"Nothing." I smiled.

"It was definitely something." he laughed.

"We should get up." I giggled.

"Yea.." he sat up.

We both got up. I checked my phone. Hayes had tweeted something. I unlocked my phone and opened the Twitter app.

Hayes tweeted: Still waiting for that text, babe.

I laughed and decide to tweet: Been a little side tracked, but I'll text ya when I can, babe.

I carried my phone downstairs. Savanna, Taylor, and Shawn were making bowls of cereal. Had Shawn come down while I was on my phone? I shrugged it off. Then I got a phone call. It was Matt. I sighed and answered.

"Yes?" I asked.

"What the heck?!" he half shouted.

"What?" I rolled my eyes.

"'I'll text ya when I can, babe!'" he got from what I tweeted.

"What's wrong with what I tweeted?" I was tired of him doing this.

"Hayes is not your 'babe.'" he tried to tell me.

"Says who?" I snapped.

"Says me!" he exclaimed.

"You're not my boyfriend anymore! You don't control what happens in my life!" I was so mad.

"Whatever! Hayes is not your babe!" he yelled.

"What if he is?" I asked without thinking.

"Then I'm glad you moved on." he said flatly.

"Good." I hung up.

I set my phone on the table, controlling my anger. I realized everyone was staring at me. I mentally face palmed myself.

"What was that about?" Savanna asked.

"Just Matt trying to get into my personal life." I sighed.

"Oh.." she nodded slowly thinking about it.

"Excuse me. I have to call someone really quick." I ran upstairs to my room and dialed Hayes's number.

"Babe!" he sounded so happy.

"Babe!" I repeated.

"What made you decide to call?" he asked.

"I need you to come to my house.. today." I explained. "How long would it take for you you to drive?"

"Well, I'm at my friend's house right now. He lives about an hour away from your town." he said.

"Great! See you in an hour!" I hung up.

I rushed downstairs and ate super quick.

"Hey..." I started. "Why don't you and Taylor go spend some time together?" I looked at Savanna.

"I'm down for it." he smiled at her.

"Okay, cool. I'm gonna head home, Bailey. Thanks for letting me stay." she got up and grabbed her things.

Taylor grabbed his things too. Savanna and Taylor went out the door. I smiled. Now I just needed to get rid of Shawn. Not get rid of him but make
him leave.

"What's that all about?" he asked.

"What? Oh! I just want some time to myself.. just to, ya know, chill and try to forget about everything." I looked down.
