I walked into the coffee shop only a few minutes away from campus since there isn't one on campus. I walk up to the manager slightly pulling up my lace tank top that I wore with a faded jean jacket, a bright pink high wasted skirt, my black gold chain across purse, and my white convers. I wore my brown and blonde hair down in its natural curls and had a white feather long necklace and a few gold, white and pink bracelets.

"Hi I'm Marie I am applying for a job," I spoke to the young man working behind the counter. He looked up from the cup he was fixing and smiled.

"I'll be right with you." he went back to fixing the cup then handed it to another worker to put the toppings on.

"So Marie, have you had any other jobs?" I nodded.

"Yes I've worked at a snowcone stand, a fabric store and for my uncle who owns a zoo." I awnsered as he motioned for me to sit at the table he was at. I sat down and put my hands in my lap before I spoke again.

"I sent in my application threw email a few days ago but I thought I'd come in too incase you haven't had the chance to look over it," he nodded.

"Why do you want this job?" I read his name tag,

"Well Sam, I am attending San Diego State and I am majoring in Design and minoring in the Three Arts I need a job to help put a little more in the savings account and to help me get started and I love fixing coffee." He wrote some things down on a clipboard then looked at me.

"I think we have everything we need you can leave now we will get back to you by this evening." I walked out of the cafè and into my Ford electric blue Raptor and drove back to campus.

I parked my car outside of the main building and made my way across the grass area to the academic building with my black canvas backpack with my books in my back.

I walked into my Home Economics class. I wanted to take it because it was a really fun class in high school. To bad the fun classes are mostly next semester.

I walked into my first home ec class and looked for an empty seat. The class was unfortunately full except for one chair, next to the familiar blonde haired boy. I went and sat down next to him and tried to not make a sound.

"You have to stop following me Marie," he joked and smiled with his bright blue eyes looking down at me. I laughed and blushed a little but I don't know why I did.

"Hello class I'm Mrs. Norman your new Home Economics class teacher," an older lady spoke. She was probably around 60. She gave us a lecture about what we will learn and gave us our schedule for the semester. With about a half hour left she went on a different path with her lecture.

"Now the first assignment I will be grading for this class is a group assignment that will be worth about 0.5 percent of your grades so please put in effort but don't go overboard. I want you to work with the person who sits next to you at your desk. You will be sitting by these people for a whole semseter so this will be a fun getting to know you activity. The assignment is on this sheet of paper I'm passing around. Once you get ot you may get started and im here if you have any questions or concerns," Mrs. Norman smiled and say down at her desk in the front of the room. She cracks me up how she's giving us a fun assignment and helping us with our every move just like teachers do im elementary school.

Luke and I looked atn eachother for a few seconds befre turning away. I picked up the piece of paper I was handed and slowley read over the assignment.

Getting to know you:

This assignment will be like no other and also has nothing to do with home ec.
