Unexpected

Chapter 5

I hoped into the drivers side on my car considering I don't know if Luke can drive.

"Can we turn on the radio?" Luke asked and I nodded as we both reached for the radio. Our hands came together as we reached for the button but I pulled back quickly and he turned on the radio.

"I love this song!" Luke screeched and turned up the radio to almost full blast.

"I got my mind made up and I can't let go I'm killin every second till I see my soul ooo I'll be runnin ooo I'll be runnin till the love runs out till the love runs out!" we screamed in unison to the top of our lungs.

A few songs later we got to Panera and hopped out of my car.

I greated Caroline with a hug as her honey hair fell in my face then she rushed to Luke.

"Luke! So good to meet you! I have been observing you from a far for a few days now," Caroline wiggled her eyebrows thay hung above her green eyes while I laughed.

"Luke and I are going to order." I calmly stated as Luke dragged me to the counter to order, complaining that he was "starving to death".

"I'll have the chicken noodle soup with a sandwich in the side also with a regular sized salad and a chocolate frosted brownie," I told the male cashier.

"Anything else hottie? Maybe my number to top off the meal, and I get off in an hour maybe we could have a little fun. I hope you take cash." the dark haired man winked. Before I could awnser Luke's arm wraped around my shoulders, he could easily use them as an arm rest.

"Actually shes taken so back off looser shes mine, out of your league, and way to pretty for you anyway," Luke's low tone rattled me. He kept his arm arround me and walked to the place to pick your food up before leaving my side and walking back to the cashier.

"Oh and I'll have the same thing as her." Luke smiled at him, making me laugh. The guy printed out his receipt after Luke paid then Luke spoke again,

"Oh and guess what?" Luke punched his noes really hard causing blood to pour out of it and me to gasp. I covered my mouth as he opened his, "You don't talk to women like that. no matter what." he said threw his clenched jaw and walked off as the lady behind him clapped along with what looked like her husband. He took a bow and walked back to my side.

"Thank you Luke but I don't see why you punched him!!" I whispered screamed at him. He bit his lip ring and looked down,

"He deserved it. No guy should talk to a lady like that. Ever. It wasn't okay and your lucky I didnt do worse than that," he said still looking down. I hugged him and he had no hesitation to hug back.

"Thank you Luke. No ones ever done that for me," I said still in the hug, I wouldn't of let go until my number was called out. I grabed my food and walked to the table while Luke still waited for his.

"Dude!" Caroline yelled at me right as I sat down, "Luke is like perfect! He's already beat up a dude that checked you out and pretended to be your boyfriend and hes hotter than the freaking sun!" I laughed and looked down as I blushed.

"Don't blush too hard or your cheeks will stay red," Luke's voice rang threw my ear as I turned around to see him laughing with his tray in his hands that was covering his black nirvana shirt. I looked at his shirt once again before realizing was wearing all black, I bet his underwear was even black.

"Shuddup." I mumbled and took a bite out if my sandwitch.

"So Luke, where were you born in Australia?" Caroline broke the comfortable silence.

"Sydney. Have you guys always lived in San Diego? " He replied while I shook my head.

"We have both mooved so much but I am from Colorado, Texas and here." I explained.

"What's your full name Luke? Cause I only know your names Luke, " Caroline asked.

"Luke Robert Hemmings. What are you twos?" he whiped his mouth with a napkin.

"Caroline Grace Kennedy." she awnsered simply.

"Marie Talia Peters," I said hoping Caroline wouldn't hear.

"Bull crap! Your name isn't Marie you little-" Caroline started before I cut her off,

"Yeah but that's what I like being called," Lukes head turned to me.

"Well whats your real name if Marie is just a nick name?" Luke asked raising one of his eyebrows.

"Annemarie." I kind of whispered then started eating my salad again.

"Thats a really pretty name," Luke smiled at me.

"I know right! She only likes to be called Annie or Marie its stupid," Caroline complains.

Our conversation ranged from school to wanting a pet koala. Luke said when he lived in Australia he worked at a zoo and got to hold koalas allc the time. I told him I worked at a zoo too and then him and Caroline had a conversation about relationships.

"How long has it been since you had a girlfriend Luke?" Caroline listened intently for his awnser.

"I think 3 years?" he nervously laughed while Caroline laughed.

"Did you love any of them?" she asked on a more serious note. I tried to make it look like I wasn't listening but I was really interested in his awnser.

"No." he simply stated and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Cool. Cool." Caroline smiled then changed the subject to her wanting to dye her hair. Just then I got an email on my phone from Cali Café. I read it seeing as I got the job I smiled and Luke read the email over my shoulder.

"She got a job!" He screamed to Caroline as she yelled in return. She wanted me to get that job so she could get discounted coffee. I looked at the clock and realized it was almost three o'clock and I haven't started studying.

"Well I need to go to my dorm I have to start studying since I haven't gotten anything done today. So you can either go back with me now or Caroline whenever she leaves Luke." he nodded.

"I'll leave with you I have something at four anyway, bye Caroline," he waved and walked out with me to my car.

We drove to the dorms as he walked me to my room. I wondered if I should've brought up the night I first saw him but im still convinced it was a dream.

"Well thats me so bye Luke I'll see you later?" He nodded and hugged me,

"Bye Annemarie." he smiled then walked off.

I locked my door behind me and fell back facing down on my bed.

For some reason it didn't bother me when he called me Annemarie. I kind of liked it actually.
