Rhydian

"Rhydian!"

God, would people STOP following me?

I turn around, my eyes burning and my head spinning, to find Mr Geoffreys behind me.

"What?" I yell. I couldn't think of anything else to say, i mean, why did he follow me here?

He walks up to me, with a serious look that can never be a good thing. And then it hits me.

He saw me running...at the speed of a wolf.

I feel my heart pound against my chest as i search frantically for any explanation i can give him.

"Rhydian," Mr Geoffreys repeates calmly, stopping metres behind me "Come with me."

What? Why is he not freaking out? There can be no way for a person to be calm after seeing that.

Maybe he didn't see...

Oh yeah, Rhydian, there's a massive chance that he can't see what's right in front of his eyes!

Mr Geoffreys motions for me to follow him; i suppose i have no choice but to obey.

My hands are shaking and i can feel the world spinning around me. What's he going to do? Can he do anything?

I can't take any chances. I have to protect our kind, but with every step i take towards the door of his office another shred of courage leaves me.

He opens his door and gestures for me to go in. Then, as if hiding something, he closes the door and looks out to see if anyone is around.

I wonder if he can hear my heart beating; it is still pounding like a drum.

He sits down and, after many uncomfortable seconds of silence, speaks up.

"Do you really think that leaving school is the answer, Rhydian?" He asks gently.

"The answer to what?" I respond, with absolutely no idea what he is talking about.

He wasn't there, he couldn't know what just happened. Could he?

"You can't run away from all of your problems, Rhydian", he continues, "There's always a way to solve a situation."

I sigh and lean back. "Yeah, right. There's no way to undo this, you have no idea."

"Yes, i do actually," he replies.

I stare back, confused.

"What are you-?"

"I know, Rhydian."

Maddy

I remember the night that Kyle captured me and Rhydian so clearly. I can still remember the fear that resided within me, the helplessness that i felt.

This was nothing compared to how i feel now.

I jerk with shock as Kyle puts his hand on my shoulder, gripping it until i wince and turn towards him.

"I'm going to make you a deal," he whispers dangerously. Then he offers his hand to help me up, but i glare at him and push it away, getting up by myself. "I wouldn't be so ungrateful, Madeline. I'm offering you the chance to go back,  back to the human world."

I stare at him in shock. "What do you mean?"

I mean," he replies, with a scarily kind smile on his face, "that i am letting you go back to school, back to your friends, and back to your normal life."

Why would he do this?

He's planning something, he wants something in return. It is a deal he's making, after all.

"On what condition?" I ask him, trying to seem more confident than i actually am.

He folds his arms and says "Oh, yes, i want you to do something for me in return. You're going to lead me to your pack."

"No, absolutely not," I answer, stepping back. "I would never betray them."

"Oh, that's a shame," he says, frowning. "It's strange, i thought that you would do anything to save your mate."

"What's Rhydian got to do wwith this?" I ask, panicking.

"Everything," he says. "You see, Madeline, it's my duty to protect the human world against you creatures.

"Werewolves are dangerous and unpredictable. I couldn't let them terrorise innocent people, especially wild ones. Now, i am willing to let you and your 'tame' friend go free, but if you won't cooperate i'll have no choice but to eliminate him, too. So,  you can either save your pack, or you can save your precious little wolf-mate. It's your choice."

I have finally uploaded! I am going to try really hard to upload every Sunday.
