Kenny wasn't himself that day. He was distracted and irritable. He wasn't as friendly and sociable, and it was all because of one person. That person was Leopold, aka Butters.

The reason of his melancholy stemmed from Butters was ignoring him. Whenever he tried to approach him, the young Leopold would apologize and quickly walk away while explaining to Kenny that he had a lot of school work to do and he needed to focus.

Ok. Kenny got that. But what bothered him was the fact that Butters wasn't texting him back. They used to exchange texts everyday, talking about their day, joking around, making comments about what was happening to them at the moment, and so on.

It had been a three weeks since Butters texted him, or sat down and talked to each other. Butters didn't even pick up his phone when Kenny was calling him after work. Also, Kenny was still the Stotch's gardener, so every Monday for the past three weeks, he didn't see Butters at all. The last time he had a nice chat with Butters was four weeks ago, that one time at the cafeteria.

Did he do something wrong? How come it felt like Butters was ignoring him? It wasn't like he was being mean to Kenny. No, in fact, he was his usual self: friendly, polite, and kind. But there was something wrong. The more Kenny thought about it, the more he began to realized that Butters was treating him like everybody else; they went back to the way they were before that night at Token's house.

Kenny clenched his teeth and shook his head. No. He shouldn't jump into conclusion. He needed to have a talk with Butters and get to the bottom of this. Which was why he asked his book store manager to clock out 30 minutes early, so that would give him 45 minutes before his next job.

He left the book store and used his connections with the administration workers to find the Butters' whereabout. One advantage of being a friendly and an outgoing guy was the amount of network he had built with the folks in South Park.

He was told that Butters was in the library. He thanked the person who gave that information and rushed to him. It took him less than five minutes to find Butters. He was sitting in the study section, in the last booth, at the corner of the library.

As he was walking toward his blonde friend he got stopped by a few other friends. "Not right now, I'm busy" was all he said to them, as he made his way toward Butters. He finally got to the booth and pulled out a chair and sat across from him. I cleared his throat to get the young Stotch's attention.

Butters looked up and his eyes became wider. He was visibly surprised to see Kenny. Butters mouthed "What are you doing?" Without making a sound.

Kenny knew the rule of the study section: no talking, no drinks and food, and no texting. So he reached for Butters' binder, opened it and grabbed a blank piece of paper. He grabbed a pen and started writing.

Kenny: Hey Buttercup. Long time no see you. How are your studies going?

Once he was done writing, he passed the paper to Butters, who hesitated to look at it for a moment. Leo grabbed the paper and read what Kenny wrote to him. Then he wrote him back.

Butters: It's going great, actually :) lots to do. How come you're not at the book store?

And from that point on they kept passing the paper to each other.

Kenny: I asked to clock out early so I could see you :)

Butters: Is something wrong? :(

Kenny: I don't know. Why don't you tell me :)

Butters: I don't understand what you're saying... Are you ok, Kenny?

Kenny: No, I'm not. I'm confused because I can't stop thinking that you might be ignoring me.
