Even so I Yearn to See What Would Have Lied Beyond That Bastard's Corpse

Though Xiao Lian feels extremely happy about there being hope in which she may live pass her decreed lifespan the moment her excitement dies down she knew that everything her father had told her can't possibly be that simple.

Despite having the appearance of a child Xiao Lian's intelligence is far and above a child of her age.

Although she knows that everything won't be as simple as her father had described Xiao Lian still wishes to believe that there is a possibility in which everything will work out for her and her family in the end.

With this hope in her heart Xiao Lian happily spends her days in leisure seemingly having had a heavy load of weight lifted off her shoulders due to the words that her father had told her that day.

Seeing the bright smile of their daughter Ye Gui Feng and Xiao Ju Hong both felt a sense of satisfaction.

Just that smile alone had seemingly made all the effort that Ye Gui Feng had put into the painting to be worthwhile.

In the middle of the night while everyone else is aside Ye Gui Feng and Xiao Ju Hong sat down together outside of the living room.

They both had a frown on their faces as they sighed heavily in minor frustration.

"I can't seem to decide between the two options that we have."

[I can't either.]

The issue on whether they should speed up the process of the painting's refinement remains unresolved.

Since he is unable to decide on which of the two options to take Ye Gui Feng had decided to tell Xiao Ju Hong about the circumstances of the painting's refinement process and listen to her opinions about it.

This kind of major decision cannot possibly be Ye Gui Feng's alone to make when Xiao Lian is their daughter so the mother's opinion is just as important as the father's.

However similar to Ye Gui Feng Xiao Ju Hong is also unable to decide when considering the consequences of each option.

"Aside from the painting's longevity and its ability to conceal Xiao Lian from the eyes of heaven and earth it doesn't have any other protective capabilities. This worries me."

The thought of Xiao Lian being alone in some distant place in the future worries Xiao Ju Hong greatly. She doesn't feel secure with leaving their daughter with no means of protecting herself should she ever encounter some kind of monster.

"I think its best if there are other functions to the painting as a means of keeping her safe when she's apart from us. If that painting is a heaven then it is a world as well. Can it not contain magic treasures inside of it like a treasure of the starry heavens?"

Adding several magic treasures into the painting as a means of guaranteeing Xiao Lian's safety in the future is probably doable as it didn't seem to be too farfetched of an idea when Ye Gui Feng thought about it.

But this still doesn't exactly resolve the matter of whether they should speed up the painting's refinement process.

"That enemy that you mentioned..."

A look of concern appears on Xiao Ju Hong's face when she thought about the enemy that Ye Gui Feng had mentioned to her.

Most likely this enemy who is in the midst of making their way over to them is going to be the biggest hurdle towards them pulling this plan off successfully.

"In the end... It might be best to speed up the refinement process. As unreliable as it might be we can only hope that the painting will last until the plan bears fruit."

No matter what Ye Gui Feng and Xiao Ju Hong cannot expect everything to go accordingly for they do not have control over everything.

As humans they can only choose to surrender the things that they have no control over to fate despite their unwillingness to do so.

[...Alright.]

Towards Xiao Ju Hong's decision on the matter Ye Gui Feng nods as he has a feeling that if they continue to wait things out it might be too late for them when they do decide to change their minds.

Having decided to speed up the painting's refinement process Ye Gui Feng immediately begins to think of a way to do so after sending out an order to the Ni Liu family for them to provide him with several powerful magic treasures that will later be infused into the painting as a means of keeping Xiao Lian safe in the future.

Although this order pains the hearts of the three Dao Paragons they knew that they didn't have the power to refuse so they can only choose to obediently hand the items over.

To the three Dao Paragons this loss wasn't too great of a deal when taking the amount of wealth that shall be handed over to them in future into consideration.

The amount of time that Ye Gui Feng had spent on finding a method to speed up the refinement process wasn't very long as it only took him half a week's worth time to do so.

Prior to telling Xiao Ju Hong about the matter Ye Gui Feng had already started to look into a method making it so that if they do decide to go down this route he would already have a partially completed idea in mind.

............

As time continues to pass for Ye Gui Feng and Xiao Ju Hong the enemy that they are both concerned about continues to make his way towards them in a silent manner.

[...]

A smile appears on the Asura Monarch's lips as he can tell that he is getting closer and closer to his destination. Perhaps within half a year's worth of time he will have finally made it to there. Once that happens he can finally take the Eternity that he wished to obtain for the sake of his eventual plans.

[I wonder what kind of fight that human would put up against me.]

Anticipation wells up within the heart of the Asura Monarch. Although he knows that that human will not be able to defeat him he is never the less looking forward to meeting them and seeing how they might struggle against him as a means of protecting what is dear to them.

Different from the Yaksha Monarch who takes joy in seeing the struggles of a life on the verge of death the Asura Monarch finds amusement in seeing the spirit of an individual who is willing to throw everything aside for the sake of a single purpose.

In the face of a dire situation the true nature of a person would be revealed.

To the Asura Monarch the thrill of finding out a person's true nature and their value is what draws his eyes upon the myriad lifeforms that exist between the plains of heaven and earth.

(Let's have fun... With all the familiar faces again someday.)

(...Always by... Your side...)

(I believe in your success...)

(*Sigh* I'm not getting enough compensation for this. But... Well seeing what's beyond this would be interesting.)

(How troublesome...)

(...Show me your victory.)

(I'm sorry... I won't be able to see the rest...)

Recalling the words said by the key members of his legion from ages past the Asura Monarch puts on a smile of bitterness.

[In the end I suppose everything had all ended as an act of pure foolery. Even so I yearn to see what would have lied beyond that bastard's corpse.]

Author: Write and write and I suddenly realized how long the final part of this arc had gone on for. Well at the very least the most difficult part of this arc had nearly ended. Or rather I'm hoping that it is on the verge of ending because I do want to move onto the next arc already. Though I don't want to rush anything and end up cutting corners on details.
