Appearing at the source of the commotion that had been bothering him throughout his trip to the center of this world the Yaksha Monarch finally sees the figure of the two lunatics.
[...]
Between the two the one that stood out the most would naturally be the colossal monarch who stands at a staggering height of 10,000 meters.
[...]
However, the attention of the Yaksha Monarch wasn't focused on the other monarch.
The person that the Yaksha Monarch wants to see is the second lunatic, the opponent who had fought against the other monarch and lasted for well over a day.
To have the courage to challenge an Original Monarch's power is considered a feat that most mortal practitioners would never dream of performing.
Yet there have been several individuals who have done it in the distant past as a means of showing defiance towards their own fates.
But what none of these individuals managed to do is to last for as much as a minute before a monarch's strength.
This doesn't mean that there aren't any exceptions to the rules.
After all amongst the myriad number of challengers there is the tales of a foolish mortal who had performed the impossible feat of severing a monarch's hand.
But this legend is something that none of the other monarchs would dig too deeply into as it is a matter that soils their pride as the embodiments of heaven and earths' various aspects.
Since there has been several individuals who had challenged a monarch's authority in the distant past the act of issuing a challenge to a monarch in present times is no longer a feat that is deserving of praise any longer.
But challenging and enduring are two vastly different matters.
To possess the strength that can allow them to endure a drawn-out battle against a monarch is something that the Yaksha Monarch finds refreshing; this is a qualification that an Original Monarch would never dream of seeing in a mortal practitioner.
And so this brings up the question...
Just what kind of mortal is capable of such a feat?
That is what the Yaksha Monarch wishes to see out of personal interest.
[...]
Turning his head towards the right the Yaksha Monarch sees the figure of a young man dressed in a plain set of red robes.
[...Heh.]
The young man smiles as he raises his left hand and wipes away the blood that is present on his lips.
Perhaps it is because of his mane like red hair but the young man gives off a primitive air that is similar to an ancient beast.
No, maybe it would be more appropriate to say that the young man is indeed a beast.
Behind the young man's waist are a total of nine black tails while in his right hand is a nodachi that measures at a length of one and a half meters.
This weapon held by the fox-tailed individual gives off an eerie force of energy that coils around it in the form of hair like threads.
Without any components such as a handle or a guard to decorate the weapon its appearance can only be described as crude or bare.
One might even consider the weapon to be unfinished if not for its sharpened edge.
