-Haruhi's POV-

School starts back soon meaning the host club will be back in session along with my classes. Not saying I am not looking forward to it I just wish I had some of the summer to have some alone time. I tie the apron around my waist and put a bandana on my head. Just one more day I think to myself, one more day. After today I can go home to my father. I can have one day to myself. It'll be great.

I walk out of my room to see a note taped to my door. The note reads my to-do list for today. I expected this. My last day would be full of work because the more I work the less money she loses. I don't mind though. These chores aren't anything new. I do them at home all the time. First thing first is laundry. Fine by me.

I walk down the halls to the laundry room. There are a bunch of laundry baskets. I don't mind. It's my job. I pick up a basket of clothes bringing them up the stairs from the laundry room. I gotta wash them in the lake near by. Its not that far of a walk from here and the basket isn't that heavy. It's only filled with dirty sheets.

I walk up the stairs and open the doors of the hotel with my feet. Walking to the lake I get a weird feeling that someone is watching me. Then again its a hotel. I'm sure lots of people are awake.

-Hikaru's POV-

I stare out the window as Haruhi walks out into the field towards the nearby lake with a basket of sheets, I assume. She looks so beautiful earlier in the morning. I still can't believe she went out on a date with me especially right after I was really mean to her middle school friend. I was surprised she was so sweet to me and I was glad to have been the one protecting her from the thunder and lighten. I never knew she was so terrified of it, but again I am glad I do now. I can protect her from stuff like that.

"Hikaru, what are you looking at?"

Without turning around I know Kaoru was asking.

"Nothing." I say without taking my eyes off of her.

Kaoru sits up from the bed and crawls over to the window and looks out the window with me. I can tell he isn't clear what I was staring at, but eventually his eyes lock onto the same girl as mine were. In the corner of my eye I see him smiling.

"Isn't she something."

"Yeah.. I'm sorry you got sick that day you wanted to take her out on that date." I apologize cause originally Kaoru asked her out, but the next morning he caught a cold.

"Don't worry about it. I gave it up."

"Huh? What do you mean?"

His smile grows a bit bigger. "I faked it so you could go on the date with her."

My eyes widen and a little surprised gasp escapes my mouth. "But,... why?"

"You needed to learn a bit more about how our life just isn't us. Also I can tell you really do care about her. More so than me."

Another gasp escapes my mouth. I take a hold of my twin brother's hand. He looks a little shock when he faces me.

"There's no one I could care about more than you, brother."

Kaoru smiles as he tilts his head. He laughs softly. I give him a confused look for why he would be laughing if he feels I could care about anyone more than my other half.

"That's not what I meant, Hikaru. I mean you care more about her than I do. Not saying I don't care about her cause I really do. A lot, but not as much as you. I didn't go off on her former middle school friend out of jealousy." Kaoru explains what he meant and I smile.

"Yeah.. I don't think it matters who likes her more. I think the boss has a print on her."

"It may seem so, but like you said: it doesn't matter who likes her more. What matters is who she likes. From what I can tell I don't know who she likes. I know she cares about all of us, but whom ever more is hard to read."
