I sat on my bed typing away on my laptop, when something motivated me to call my parents. I had promised to speak to them about my first day at school and I hate breaking promises.

I picked up my phone and looked for the right contact. I held it up to my ear and waited for the voice I hadn't heard in a while.

"Hi sweetie, I was waiting for you to call me." My mom answered. I laughed lightly and smiled to no one in particular.

"Sorry, I've been busy unpacking. School was great though if you were wondering." I said as I got up and fixed my bedsheets. Whenever I'm on the phone, I can't sit still. I'm weird.

"Are you happy there? I mean, you can always come back-" She started. I sighed.

"Mom, I told you. I want to be here, I'm happy here and I've reconnected with some special people as well." I told her. I obviously wasn't going to tell her that special person was Stiles. She'd probably go off and tell Melissa and that might go to Scott knowing.

"Well, I'm happy that you're happy. Talk to me soon, I miss you already." Mom softly spoke.

"I miss you too and I love you." I ended the call and as I turned around to face the door, I gasped in surprise when I saw Stiles standing there with his fist raised to knock on the door.

"Stiles, what the hell are you doing?" I exclaimed once my heart rate went down.

"Uh, I was about to knock on the door. Who were you talking to?" He asked. He was in his lacrosse gear and for some reason, he looked really adorable today. I don't know what it was.

"It was my mom, I was just updating her." I told him. He seemed to visibly relax and he nodded. Weird, who did he think I was talking to? "Anyways, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"I was going to see Scott but I couldn't find him anywhere." I walked forward and slung my bag over my shoulder as he talked.

"He left early so he could study more." I informed him. He looked around my room and I realised this was the first time he's been inside.

"Since he's not here, I can take you to school." He offered.

"Sure." I smiled. He went downstairs and I followed suite. We walked towards his blue jeep and he started the car.

"We have morning practise today. Do you wanna tag along?" He asked after a moment of silence.

"Yeah, that'd be great actually." I put my seatbelt on and I didn't miss the small smile he gave himself as he started to drive towards the school.

"So I was thinking about Scott and the bite, and I thought that it was really weird that after this happened he had gotten really good at lacrosse. He doesn't even need his inhaler anymore, so do you think this could be part of something big?" He spoke. I listened carefully and I knew that all of this was true. He had really bad asthma and I noticed that his inhaler hadn't moved from his desk since yesterday.

"I don't know, maybe. But now that you say it out loud, it sounds really weird. I don't know what's happened but we shouldn't assume anything yet since we barely know anything." I replied. He looked happy that I had somewhat agreed to his statement and I could feel the butterflies constantly in my stomach whenever I talked to him.

"Also, I overheard my dad on the phone and the fiber analysis came back from the lab in LA. They found animal hairs from the body in the woods. You're never going to guess what the animal was." Stiles spoke quickly.

"I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say a duck." I sarcastically said. He rolled his eyes at my reply and answered his own question.
