"Her father?" I repeated as we walked down the hallway to exit the school.
"Yes, her father." Scott grumbled. I put my hand over my mouth to stop myself from laughing.
"Oh my God, you have the worst luck ever!" I giggled. He mockingly pushed me slightly but that ended with me falling into Stiles who was next to me.
"Damn, I was only kidding. Have you gotten stronger?" I balanced myself and I still felt Stiles' hand on my waist from when he stopped me from face planting.
"Sorry. I just have a lot on my mind." He apologised. I waved goodbye to Stiles as we parted ways to go home. The drive home with Scott was silent except for the quiet songs playing on the radio.
Scott trudged into his room and I followed, lying down on his bed. He curled up into a ball at the foot of his bed, no doubt thinking of how he can be with Allison without getting himself killed. He honestly looked like a lost, little puppy.
Melissa walked into the room and did a double take at us. "You both look like you've had a hard day at school." She commented.
"You have no idea." Scott and I said in unison. Mr Harris almost gave me a detention, but it's not my fault his egotistical comments annoy me to a point where I want to punch him in the nose.
"Well, I have a late shift again. But, I am taking Saturday off to see your first game." I smiled at her, thinking of how my parents would never do that for me.
"No, mom you can't." Scott groaned. Stiles had told me that he was considering not playing on Saturday because he almost took Jackson's shoulder off. Is it bad that I would pay to see that? Also, he apparently wolfed out on Stiles in the locker room and Stiles had to spray him with the fire hydrant. I would also pay to see that.
"I can and I will. One shift isn't going to break us. Not completely." She added the last part quietly. I admired Melissa and her persistence. I wish I could be like her one day, or even a bit like her.
"What's wrong with your eyes?" She asked Scott. I perked up, thinking his eyes were glowing but he look normal. He also thought that too, with the way he quickly sat up. "You look like you haven't slept in days." She took a closer look at him.
"Oh, it's nothing. Just stress." He replied. I laid back down again and relaxed.
"Just stress. Nothing else?" She questioned.
"Homework."
"I mean, it's not like you're on drugs or anything, right?" I buried my face into the comforter to stop myself from laughing. Trust me, he would be too scared to try anything like that.
"Right now?" Scott asked. That obviously wasn't the response she was looking for, since she looked like she was going to unleash a can of whoop ass on him.
