I noticed that I couldn't move any of my limbs, the only thing I could move was my toes and my neck. Next, I noticed that I was super warm and that I was lying on something soft. I made these notes in my head while I was regaining consciousness. Near the bed, soft footsteps were heard pacing up and down the room.
I slowly opened my eyes but couldn't see anything since a navy blue comforter was taking up half my vision. The reason I was so warm was because I was tightly wrapped in it, like I was a baby. Moving my chin forward, I took some of the fabric that was suffocating me and took it under my chin so could see.
I immediately recognised the room of my best friend, and the pacing was coming from him. He hadn't noticed I was awake yet. I opened my mouth to tell him to get me out of this death trap, when he brought his phone to his ear and spoke.
"Hey, It's me again. Look, I found something and I don't know what to do, okay? Also, did I forget to mention that Liv is lying down, passed out on my bed in a freaking cocoon like a bee because she had a nosebleed and fainted. And also because I had nowhere to take her. So if you could turn on your phone right now, that'd be great. Or else, I'll kill you. Do you understand me? I'm gonna kill you. And I'm too upset to come up with a witty description about how exactly I'm gonna kill you but I'm just gonna do it, okay? I'm gonna- ugh! Goodbye." Stiles had ranted into the phone and tossed it onto the bed, right next to my feet.
I heard him sigh and I thought now was the time to tell him I was alive, but of course with a twist.
I call it the Olivia Style!
"First of all, a caterpillar is the one in the cocoon. Not a bee. Second, can you get me out of here?" My voice was slightly muffled because my chin hurt from tucking the comforter away for so long, so I just had to stick to the no sight. Stiles heard my voice clearly and jumped up from his chair, falling to the ground.
He got up, rolling his eyes and took hold of the end of the comforter and rolled my body away from him, causing the fabric to unfold on me.
How gentlemanly.
Once I was out of there and could finally breathe, I sat up and crossed my legs. "Why did all of that just happen?" I asked, catching my breath. Stiles sat down next to me and began to explain.
"Well, I didn't want to have to go through the process of lying to your mom because you were lying passed out in my arms with a nosebleed and I didn't know how to cover for this one." As soon as he mentioned nosebleed, I touched my nose but didn't feel any blood. "Oh, I cleaned it up as best as I could."
I smiled, knowing he hated blood. "Well, thank you." He nodded, smiling back. His dad knocked on the door and Stiles jumped again, looking at him.
"Please tell me I'm gonna hear good news at this parent/teacher thing?" Noah leaned against the doorway, nodding at me as he spoke to his spastic son.
"Depends on how you define 'Good news'." Stiles replied. Oh God, not this again, I enjoyed their little banter but sometimes I felt the same pain the sheriff did when dealing with him.
"I define it as you getting straight As with no behavioural issues." He visibly flinched as his dad explained to him the definition of good news.
"You might wanna rethink that definition." Stiles said, playing with something on his bedside table.
"Enough said." His dad walked away, leaving Stiles and I alone again.
Putting away the toy in his hand, Stiles replayed the video of the alpha one last time on Lydia's phone. This time, I didn't feel like I was about to throw up five bottles of booze. I watched curiously for the second time and when the video ended, Stiles let the phone clatter onto the wooden table.
