"Stiles go away." I whined. He rolled his eyes at me but continued walking alongside me.
"No, I need to make sure you don't get hurt or else Scott'll skin me alive." Stiles ignored whatever I had to say about him hovering next to me.
Stiles and Scott had been at my beck and call during the weekend and at first it was enjoyable but now, it was annoying as hell. They felt like they needed to do everything for me, even walk me to the bathroom. I had to convince them to not follow me in and luckily Melissa was there to back me up.
Scott made it his duty to sleep in my room in case I somehow got hurt again. And then there was Stiles who slept over occasionally. Usually, I would be flattered at the fact that they wanted to protect me but I had regretted it very quickly.
"Stiles, you don't have to carry my books for me." I told him as we were on our way to Mr Harris' class. There was only a couple of kids inside and I noticed they were all giggling at something. At first, I thought it was me but then I looked at the chalkboard and saw the little message I had written on the night we were trapped.
I looked away, eyes wide as I completely forgot I had done it. Stiles sat down next to me, laughing. The rest of the students piled in and soon my cousin came in. He stood at the front of the class awkwardly and I tried to get a better view of what he was doing, I soon realised that Allison was sitting in front of him and he went to say something. Mr Harris being Mr Harris, stood in the way and hadn't seen the chalkboard yet.
"Mr McCall, please take a seat." He obnoxiously told him. Scott sighed and went to sit in front of me, sulking. "Who the hell did this?" I heard our teachers tight voice.
A few chuckles echoed around the room but no one had known who truly did it except for me and the boys next to me. Wiping it off, he narrowed his eyes and scanned his classroom like a hawk. I looked down, trying to keep the smirk off my face. After an intense silence so quiet you could hear a pin drop, he looked away and to the papers he was passing out.
"You have 45 minutes to complete the test. 25% of your grade can be earned right now simply by writing your name on the cover of the blue book." I quickly took the pencil in my hand and messily writing my name on the cover. "However, as happens every year, one of you will inexplicably fail to put your name on the cover, and I'll be left yet again questioning my decision to ever become a teacher." I smirked, knowing that it wasn't going to be me. "So let's get the disappoint over with. Begin."
I flipped open the book and answered the first question feeling confident. After the fourth or fifth question, I had realised that none of them were on the revision sheets we were given a few weeks ago. I tapped the end of my pencil on the paper, my good leg bouncing nervously. Suddenly, Scott jumped out of his seat and ran out of the room, catching everyone's attention.
"Mr McCall?" Harris called after him. From my right, Stiles followed in a rush. I looked at him, eyes wide in panic basically yelling 'don't leave me here to take this text on my own'. He sent me a sorry look and dashed out, going after his best friend. "Mr Stilinski?" Harris yelled. He darted his eyes onto me, as if daring me to leave this room.
I looked away, focusing on the question. I filled in a bubble and moved on. There was a true or false section, I picked B for the first but became suspicious after I was about to pick B again. Circling A, I flipped the page and realised I was at the end of the book. My mind raced, thinking about what Scott and Stiles were doing right now and I couldn't sit still.
Is this what Stiles feels like all the time?
Glancing at the empty seat beside me, I rubbed my forehead and rested my eyes for a second. I hadn't been getting much sleep since that night, only an hour or two but I had managed to convince everyone that I was fine, I didn't them worrying about me even more.
