This isn't my own query as such, but I saw a few posts going around Tumblr with HP questions, and thought I'd add them here as well with my own solutions, incase you had also thought of them, wondered why I hadn't included them etc.

Now I don't know about you but my handwriting has certainly developed and gained new characteristics over the past few years, I think it's likely Snapes could have undergone a similar transformation. Also it can be pretty hard to remember where you've seen something before if it's in an unconnected situation, and many people have similar handwriting having been taught a particular style by a teacher.
