Nico Hischier (New Jersey Devils)

"God damn it," I muttered to myself. "Buster! Come here baby!" I yelled down the hall. My neighbor had asked me to watch her dog while she went to visit her brother. She asked me to take him out 3 times a day, and at least once a day go play with him and spend time with him. He's a small dog, so he wears out easily and all he wants to do is snuggle. Fairly easily, right? Boy, was I wrong.

She told me before she left that the front door had problems and so I should make sure that the door was always closed so Buster didn't escape. I had walked into the kitchen to find a snack in her pantry, and the small dog had left in the knick of time. I ran down the hall, frantically yelling his name and looking everywhere.

I realized he probably wasn't on this floor, so I went down to the next one. I ran down the stairs, still yelling his name. I slammed the door open and ran down the hall of the floor below mine. I was running, and looking in a corner at the same time when I ran into something that felt like a wall. "Ughhhh," I groaned on the ground. I slowly sat up and realized it was a person I hit and not a wall.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" I rushed out, outstretching my hand to the male who I knocked over. I looked up at the figure after I helped him up and realize I had knocked over the most beautiful man I've ever seen in my life.

"Holy shit." I mumbled to myself, causing the brunette stranger to smile. He chuckled and held out his hand to me, "I'm Nico." He said in a deep, accented voice. I wanted to say hello Nico I'm yours, but I hesitated. "Hi, I'm (Y/N.) I'm terribly sorry, I'm not much of a runner but I'm dog sitting and I lost the dog." I mumbled off at the end and Nico's eyes widened.

"You lost the dog?" He said. "Ya, he's a sneaky little dog apparently." I joked and he smiled. "Well that's unfortunate. I feel awful, I'll help you find him. What's his name?" He asked and I shook my head. "Nico, I just barreled you over. You don't have to help me." I said and it was Nico's turn to shake his head. "Nonsense. It didn't even hurt, and you're clearly stressed and I would be an ass if I didn't help a pretty girl who needs help." He said and I blushed after he called me pretty.

"His name is Buster." I sighed, defeated and Nico smiled, beginning to yell Buster's name. After 45 minutes, I was about to give up. Nico and I had gone to our last option; the lobby. We went down the elevator one last time and got out, looking around the lobby for the small dog.

It didn't take long, because the small dog was sitting on a chair in the lobby, sleeping. "Buster!" I yelled out in a sigh of relief. I ran up to the small dog and engulfed him in my arms, almost crying I was so relieved. Nico came over as well and started to scratch the small dog's head, which made him happy.

"Nico, I can't thank you enough for helping me find Buster. You saved my ass." I smiled at him and he shook his head. "It was no worry. You're great company." He said and I blushed. "What can I do to repay you? I can give you some of the money I'm earning from my neighbor." I offered and he shook his head. "You could go on a date with me." He said hopefully and I smiled.

"You know, I'd love that." Nico and I exchanged contact information and he was about to open his mouth to say something when his phone started ringing. "Excuse me, I have to take this." He stepped away and started talking to someone. "Oh shit! In 20 minutes?" I heard him say. I couldn't hear what else he said, but I presumed he was late to something.

"(Y/N), I'm really sorry but I have to go to practice. I'll text you and let you know about that date." He said with a smile which I returned. "Sounds like a plan. Wait, practice for what?" I asked and a mischievous grin came on his face.

"Looks like you'll have to find out on our date. See you soon, beautiful." He bid me a farewell and kissed my blushing cheek, running out of our apartment complex.

I looked down at Buster in my arms and smiled. "Thanks for being a dumb ass, cuz now I have a date with a hot foreign boy."
