I took a deep breath and led my team through the tunnel. As the captain of the Toronto Furies, I held my head high, my hair pulled into a bun so you could see "KAPANEN" proudly displayed on the back of my jersey.

My twin brother Kasperi Kapanen and I grew up playing hockey non stop. Kappy and I never really stopped playing hockey. If we weren't playing hockey, we were watching it. Or we were thinking about it. Or we were reading about it. Our lives revolved around hockey.

All our hard work paid off, because I'm in the CWHL and Kasperi is in the NHL. Having a brother in the NHL has its perks, especially when it comes to his hot teammates. Especially one of my close friends, William Nylander.

I've had a crush on William since I met him about 3 years ago. We're really close friends, but that's all he sees us as. As I do warmups, I look up and see Kasperi and William in their usual seats. I smile at them and they smile back. I joke and call them my good luck charms, but it's true.

We were set to play the Calgary Inferno. I was excited to play. Even after all these years of playing hockey, I was still giddy every time I stepped on the ice.

The game went smoothly, ending in a 3-0 shutout win against the Inferno. I scored two goals. I went into the dressing room and showered and got changed. Since we were at home, I had no bus to take home so I could wear whatever I want. I immediately changed into a pair of Nike joggers with a Furies sweatshirt and a pair of Adidas tennis shoes.

I said bye to my teammates and I left the locker room. Kasperi and William weren't where they usually meet me after games, so I kept walking in hopes of finding them. When I heard the voice of my brother, I went to turn the corner but realized I should probably stay out of this, so I listened from afar.

"William, I know you really like my sister. I'm telling you, I give you my permission to date her. But first, we need to go over a few ground rules. Number one, don't ever break her heart. If you do, I'll end your hockey career. Number two, don't be afraid to snap her out of it if she's doubting herself. She does it a lot, she doesn't realize how great she is. Number three, please please please, don't break her heart. She doesn't need anymore heartbreak in her life." He said referring to the heartbreak I went through 4 months ago when my boyfriend of 3 years cheated on me, a lot.

"Kasperi, I really, really like her. I won't do anything to hurt her, I promise. I wouldn't dream of it." I smiled to myself as William said that. It made me happy to know that he really liked me. I started walking away as I sensed their conversation was coming to a close when I heard my name.

They knew I was listening.

"Fuck," I mumbled to myself and walking towards them. I gave them both a smile, "thanks for coming guys!" I said and they both smiled. "We love coming, you know that." Kasperi told me and I nodded knowingly. "Can I talk to you, (Y/N)? Privately?" William asked me and Kasperi nodded at him. I knew what was happening and it made my heart race. "Ya of course, what's up?" I asked after Kasperi left.

"Look, I know you know and I know you feel it too. I really like you, (Y/N). You're special. And I'd really like it if you would go out with me maybe? Like on a date? If not that's okay, I was just thinking-" I cut him off by kissing him, which startled him but he kissed back immediately.

"So I take it that's a yes?" He asked with a grin and I smiled widely, grinning. "I'd love to go out with you, William. As long as we can get ice cream after." I smiled and he nodded. "Of course." He informed me and I smiled wider. "Well then it's a date."

(A/N): not a big fan of this one but requests are open! :)
