William Nylander (Toronto Maple Leafs)

"Logan!" I yelled as I ran up to my brother. My brothers team, The Ottawa Senators, were playing the Maple Leafs. Since I lived in Toronto, I had to come see the game. Also I have another reason to come see the game.

I've been dating William Nylander for 2 years. I met William in the beginning of the 2016 season when he was on the Marlies and we've been ever together pretty much ever since. The catch? My brother doesn't know.

He knows I have a boyfriend named William, but he's completely obviously to the fact that he's William Nylander. I engulfed my twin brother in a hug which was much needed. I had a stressful day at work and I was looking forward to seeing my brother.

"How have you been, sis? I missed you like crazy!" He said after I pulled out of his arms. "I've been pretty good. How about you, you big NHL star?" I asked him and he smiled. "I've been great. I really love it here." He smiled and I smiled. I loved to see my brother so happy.

"Well, I have to go to the locker room but how about we go to dinner after? On me? And bring that boyfriend of yours!" He suggested and I froze. "Umm, ya. I'll see if he's free." I mumbled. "See you soon, sis." Logan left a kiss on my cheek and then walked away.

I immediately pulled out my phone and texted William. "Hi babe, Logan wants to have dinner with you and meet you. Are you ready for that?" I sent and waited for a response. "I'd love to meet him. I've been meaning to ask him something." He responds. I was getting anxious to know what he wanted to ask him, but I knew that would have to wait.

The game came and went and now it was time for the inevitable dinner. Logan and I decided that we would go together, and that William would meet us there. I wanted to save his freak out to somewhere more private. I knew he was going to flip out. He never liked me dating hockey players. I dated one of his teammates when I was 16 and he cheated on me, so Logan prohibited me from dating hockey players. I didn't really think it would ever affect me, until I met William.

I smiled thinking about him and Logan looked at me from the drivers seat. "What's got you smiling?" He asked and I shook my head. "I really want you to like William. Will you please be nice to him? He's an amazing guy. I'm really happy with him." I said and he nodded. "(Y/N), I love you. I'm hopefully gonna like him. If you like him, I'm sure I will." He smiled and I smiled back. Hopefully everything would be alright.

We got out of the car and walked into the restaurant. I told William to arrive about 10 minutes after we were getting there so we'd get there first. We were seated and I was making small talk with my brother when William texted me and said he was here. I took a deep, shaky breath and stood up to find him.

When I laid my eyes on him, a huge smile grew on my face. "Hi gorgeous." He smiled at me and pulled me into a hug. He placed a kiss on my forehead and pulled away from my grasp. "Hi babe. I definitely don't look gorgeous but thanks for the compliment." I joked as I looked down at my outfit. Senators sweatshirt with black ripped jeans and checkered vans. So gorgeous.

I grabbed his hand and squeezed it out of nerves. William rubbed my knuckles with his thumb. "It's gonna be okay, babe." With a deep breath, I walked towards the booth we were sitting at. "Logs," I murmured and he looked up. "This is William." I said shakily and Logan looked at him with wide eyes. "Hey man! You're my sister's guy?" He asked and William nodded slowly. "Dude, loosen up! It's nice to formally meet you! You're a great player!" I was completely shocked. Logan was so cool about this.

The whole dinner was fun and light hearted. I was so happy. But towards the end, William got nervous. "Everything okay, babe?" I whispered to him and he nodded. "Can I talk to you in private, Logan?" William asked him and Logan nodded. They exited the booth leaving me confused, but I just shrugged and started answering snapchats. After about 5 minutes, they came back. But when Logan slid back into the booth, William got down in front of me in the booth on one knee. I gasped and my hands went over my mouth, tears spilling out of my eyes.

"I had a huge speech prepared and but I totally forgot it. Will you marry me?" He said. I nodded because I couldn't use my words. He pulled the ring out of the box and slid it onto my finger. It was stunning. He pulled me in for a kiss when my brother yelled, "Hey everyone! They just got engaged!" The whole restaurant started cheering and William and I were both crying. The restaurant brought us a super nice dessert, free of charge.

"I love you, baby. And I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you." I said and William smiled. "I can't wait to make you Mrs Nylander."
