Later that day
After breakfast, I got ready for the day and changed into the the closes Josie gave me before I left with Dante.
I slipped on a pair of skinny jeans that hugged my curves perfectly and a shirt cropped grey long sleeve.
She didn't pack a sweater which made me uncomfortable not being able to tie something around my waist to cover my hips and thighs.
It's fine, I should start learning to be more comfortable with my curves, it's a bad habit not to.
I walked out to see Dante retrieving his car keys and looking up at me as I walked in. I watched him trail his emerald eyes up my hips and waist. Leaving a mix of emotions in his wake.
"Are you ready to go?" He asked walking towards me. I nodded and started walking to the door before I felt him pull my waist back an an inch before his body.
I slowly felt him tie something around my waist and let go continuing to walk out the door. "I don't feel like dealing with guys staring at your ass all day princess" he muttered while walking past me.
I immediately blushed and walked out with my head down, a million thoughts running through my head.
As I reached the car he opened the door for me and allowed me to slide in to the leather seat.
He then did the same and started the car, pulling out of a stone driveway.
As we drove through the city in silence, I kept thinking we should be talking about something. But there wasn't really. I felt that all of this felt weird because it happened in a mere 48 hours.
Then he spoke up, slicing through the unpleasant silence. "So how long have you lived in New York then?" He asked with a small amount of enthusiasm to be identified in his husky voice.
"Well, I lived in Mexico for around 10 years, then I moved to Northern California for about 8 years, and if you wanna count my time with Vladimir then, hm, one year in New York" I said calmly, slowly interpreting the tall buildings outside.
"Ah yes, Vladimir, he um, may or may not be on the loose right now" said Dante, I could tell he said it with precision, not wanting to frighten me.
My face lit up immediately, but not with excitement, with fear. I looked down and could feel the tears reaching my brown eyes. Dante looked over at me and was taken aback.
Dante POV:
I looked over at her to see her once lovely honey brown eyes to be slowly releasing tears into her lap. "I- uh, Princess please don't cry" I said practically begging. This was one of my greatest weaknesses, but Stella took it to a whole other level with me.
Just her being who she is in general had that surprising effect on me.
She looked up after a moment and gave a weak smile, "Sorry Dante I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable, he's just one of the few things that scares me" she said with her sweet voice lowering as she spoke.
I sighed in frustration, knowing he stroke fear into her pure little heart made me want to rip his out of his chest. And did she really apologize for crying, oh god, what did my world do to ever deserve someone as fragile and sweet as her.
"It's ok Princess, what else are you afraid of though?" I asked shrugging, trying to spark up a new conversation.
"Well um, let's see, on the physical aspect of things, bugs for sure. They were always all over the place in the cell I was in, and storms are really pretty and all but if anything makes me scared it's that for sure" she said carefully.
