Chapter 17

"Babe, I won and you know it" he began carefully. "You won because you cheated" I emphasized. "Excuse me, cheating? You kept looking at my cards" he accused.

I gasped, "That was you!" I yelled laughing. He laughed with me and pulled me in for a kiss. "When are we leaving" I asked. "An hour, what do you wanna do till then?" He asked, I was slouched up against the headboard and he had his head propped up on my stomach, trailing lines on my leg. Our stuff was already packed so there wasn't much to do

"Let's watch something" I said. He pulled out the laptop from the desk next to the bed and went on to Netflix.

We started watching The Godfather, ironically.

"Is this what it's really like?" I asked. "The mafia, I mean" I said as he looked up at me.

He sighed and ruffled his hand through his messy hair. "Kind of, the year is completely different and that changes a lot. And the females are more involved then you think" he said.

"How so?" I asked, twirling a bit of his hair in my hand.

"They're kind of like the minds behind the face, help us when we're too angry or too frustrated with ourselves. Without them, we'd be unbalanced" he said.

"Stella, the only female I want beside me ruling is you" he whispered into my ear.

I was surprised at his request. Could I even do that? do I have that in me?. Or will I fail now and regret it tomorrow.

But, ruling aside. I really can't imagine being by anyone else's side either. 

I smiled and pressed my forehead against his, "Okay" I said smiling. Immediately he kissed me, but not with lust or desire. It was a seal almost, that without having vows or a ring or a wedding, our fates were intertwined. Our paths forever crossed, I was his and he was mine.

As I straddled his lap and kissed him back with equal intensity, a knock sounded on the door. "Who is it" Dante growled.

"If you guys are done making heirs, were due to check out" said Kai through the other side of the wooden door.

"Go away!" he yelled back. I smiled and gave him one last kiss before getting out of the bed to pull on a pair of black slides.

We opened the door after putting away a few extra things and workers walked in to collect our bags and take them downstairs. Dante latched his hand onto mine and led me downstairs.

When we walked out of the tall building, there were reporters and journalists lined up.

"Sir, sir is this your wife?!" Screamed some. "Is it true your businesses partake in illegal activities?" Asked some. I was aware that outside of the Mafia, Dante was a businessman and had his own companies of sorts, he had owned many hotels and casinos to add on to it as well.

We pushed our way to the car and Dante opened the door to let me in. I sat inside and looked back to see Jayda and Kai inside the back of the spacious black suv.

I assumed jay and the other man that came with us was in the car behind us. Dante made his way to the drivers seat and pulled out of the crowded street.

"Damn vultures" he groaned. "So, What?, are you and Stella like official now?" Asked Kai and Jayda smirked.

"Shut the fuck before you hitchhike back to New York" muttered Dante. I laughed and Kai turned to me.

"Entonces, Stella. ¿Tú y Dante juntos?" He asked in Spanish.

Before I could reply Dante threw a phone at his head.

"Can you guys speak English?" Whined Jayda. Her dirty blonde hair was in a messy bun and the bags under her eyes evident. "Hangover?" I asked.

She nodded and slumped back onto the seat. "I need food" she said, Kai's stomach growled and nodded in agreement.

I looked at Dante and he replied back. "We'll get something on the way to New York" he said.

"We're driving back?" I asked and he nodded. "It'll take less than a day" he said. Jayda and Kai both groaned loudly.

"I like driving better" he said. I nodded and stared outside at the moving road. I felt a warm  hand interlock with mine and turned my head.

Dante's left hand was on the steering wheel and his right hand was laced with mine. I smiled lightly and turned my head back.

We drove for another 30 minutes when we stopped at an In-n-out to grab food.

Jayda squealed in delight as her mouth came in contact with a burger. "This is what heaven tastes like" she moaned. I turned my head to be greeted by a pouty kai

"What are you pouting about" grumbled Dante.

"Nothing"

"He's lying!" Jayda screamed loudly in the restaurant.

Dante raised and eyebrow. "What's wrong?" I asked softly. He looked up at me and back at Dante.

"Our family is coming to visit"
