How does one profess one's love? Hibari didn't know. He was deciding on waiting for a while though, it wasn't like he had competition. In fact, most of his thoughts were caught up by that question instead of the work in front of him.

It hadn't been a week yet, he has to at least wait a month before even implying he likes her. Although considering what he'd done so far, perhaps he's already failed. She seemed to be warming up to him gradually. On their first meeting, she was far more jittery and scared; now, she was smiling without reservation and even talking to him - albeit quietly and rarely and with slight stammers. Nevertheless, he counted this as a win.

Kusakabe on the other hand was both utterly flabbergasted and proud to hear a female voice coming from the reception room - as well as the chairman's. How did he know it wasn't just detention and a one-sided beating? The girl sounded rather happy and content to be there.

He was right, when he walked in the girl was sat on the sofa engaging in pointless conversation with Hibari. She was drinking tea casually and looked happy, entertained.

Kusakabe was so happy for his boss, that he completely forgot the purpose of his visit. In favor of conversing with the girl and realising she was the one Hibari wanted research on. He understood now. So his cold chairman has finally found someone to love? Although he was a little wary on whether or not he knew what love was.

It'll work itself out.

He was kicked out pretty quickly.

Recently Reborn had a suspicion. His suspicions are usually spot on too. For the past month Hibari's not been as active. He's still cracking down on the usual rule breakers but he hasn't been chasing after Tsuna or Enma nowadays. While it's a welcome break for the two of them, it wasn't appreciated by Reborn.

He's going to end up having to sell himself to the prefect just to get him to beat Tsuna up a little bit. And by sell, he means promise a fight that will possibly never actually happen.

It was partly his lack of information on Hibari that caused his curiosity to peak. Since Hibari was already far stronger than the other guardians, and was growing at a substantial rate, Reborn saw his time more well spent training the others. Dino can deal with Hibari's terrifying growth rate.

It's probably all the practice he gets beating up Nami students.

Anyway, he was sure something was up. And he was right.

While he couldn't put cameras and spy on Hibari in the reception room - they always went missing - he could everywhere else. In fact, he wasn't even relying on a camera - rather good old binoculars and a tree outside.

He had caught Hibari heading into the library while happening to be taking a nap in the tree just outside the window. What a jolly coincidence that was. Reborn noticed there were other students in there but they all made a haste escape when Hibari came in.

Except one girl sat by the window. His view wasn't the best, but even Reborn could tell she was pretty - not to mention enthralled in her reading.

Reborn thought the girl would scream and run away like the rest after seeing Hibari. However when Hibari actually approached the girl - Reborn was seriously wondering if the boy took offense from her not running away - and stood behind her. How she didn't notice was beyond him.

Reborn watched as Hibari leant down and grabbed the book, pulling it up and ultimately forcing the girl to follow. Her eyes met his and widened upon contact. She turned around as much as she could and smiled gleefully at him. Hold up. Did he see that right? She wasn't crying and begging for forgiveness?
