Without knowing, to let go of a precious thing

Kouka's bath was in no way long but when she came out, Hibari was leaning on the opposite wall waiting for her and from his semi-dry hair, he'd been there a little while. Admittedly the blush on her face was not from the steamy baths but rather how attractive Hibari looked in a yukata, black was just his colour.

Taking his hand once more after apologising for making him wait, he said he'd just finished a few minutes ago, she was lead back to their room wherein a great spread of food was laid out on the table. The workers must have brought it to their room earlier and luckily it was still warm.

Kouka's concern was having been given all of this for free. She still sat at the table and started eating without a fuss first however.

"Hibari-san? Is it really alright for me to accept all of this... I'd feel bad if I didn't pay you back." She muttered into a slice of boiled meat* - attempting to hide behind it and escape from the awkwardness; as so far they've just been eating in silence with occasional eye contact. She accepts that Hibari's not one for starting a conversation or even holding one in general... but it got really nerve wracking in utter silence - like she's expected to do something or say something, then the fear of saying or doing something wrong.

"This is repayment for your Valentine's gift." He answered quickly and briefly, much to Kouka's exasperation.

"But... Didn't you already give me chocolate-?"

Hibari's reply came quicker than she realised, though his tone stayed the same speed deadpan; "Overruled."

"Over-? But..."

"Then, a date." He supplied as apathetic as can be, fueling Kouka's internal distress.

"Eh? Isn't this a little much for a date, first or not...?" She then giggled quietly under her breath as she smiled back at him, "I am enjoying myself a lot though."

"I thought I'd be a lot more nervous actually..." She mused quite happily; however proved wrong when she found herself acting rather naturally around Hibari, take the increased awareness of him being male and her boyfriend. She still couldn't really believe it. Almost as if nothing had changed from a month ago...

They were rather close even then... He did try and kiss her not that long ago too, just before Valentine's. Maybe from then it kind of changed and it became more than friends but not official. Yeah, not much has changed now...

Except she's now been kissed twice by Hibari - and in the same day no less.

Dinner passed by rather uneventfully, Hibari ate food and Kouka ate food. She poured him a cup of tea, he thanked her. Afterwards Kouka went to sit on the porch to watch the moon and stars while Hibari went to the bedroom - momentarily peering out of the window and catching her eye. She smiled gracefully at him, earning a soft look in return.

He shortly afterwards smirked, "Ah, there's only one futon here by the way." Kouka spluttered on nothing for a second before spinning to stare dubiously at him. To prove his point, his smirk turned smug - to Kouka that was enough evidence. She hurried back into the main room and scurried through the doors to the bedroom, gaping at the sight of a large 'futon' laid before her. Rather it was more of a bed but... without the frame and set on a platform. Does that count as a futon or a bed? Kouka (Author) doesn't know.

"T-th-then-! We... S-share-!?" She stammered much to Hibari's amusement.

He approached her calmly, making her nervous, but relieving her of any anxiety when he walked straight past her, stopping just behind; "If you don't want to I'll sleep on a chair."

She wanted to protest for the sake of his back, but her voice escaped her and she couldn't make a sound. Her lips only formed words before settling into a depressed frown upon seeing Hibari slump back in one of the comfier chairs across the main room - too far! But she'd probably not get a wink of sleep if she did share the bed with him...

Resigned, she let it go and went to curl herself into the warm blankets and comforting mattress. She didn't fall asleep, rather she didn't try and fall asleep; she lay there with her eyes open thinking. On occasion she did feel her eyelids droop down exhausted but she relented. Approximately thirty minutes passed by when she finally got up again, fiddling around blindly in the dark.

Kouka managed to drag the quilt of the bed as well as a thin and small blanket she'd found in the closet earlier outside of the bedroom with a little difficulty. It was dark so she wasn't too sure on where the furniture was or where she was going, but thankfully her eyes had adjusted enough so that she could make out rough shapes; as well as Hibari in the corner, sleeping on a chair just like he'd told her. Frowning, she carefully and quietly made her way over.

First before draping the thicker quilt over Hibari's surprisingly relaxed form - Kouka thought it'd be more uncomfortable than it looked - she started to hum almost inaudibly, slowly increasing the volume so that it doesn't stir Hibari rather than keep him unconscious. Continuing with her humming, she gently pulled the quilt over him. Taking a glance out of the window just behind she could see a beautifully bright moon far up in the sky, sometimes getting hidden behind thick clouds and thin. Smiling back at Hibari, she absent mindedly brushed a few stray strands of hair from his face and eyes - fearing the itchy sensation may wake him.

She never got enough of feeling his beautifully soft hair. Kouka wondered if it smelt the same as Hibari, a spicy wood scent. She didn't really see Hibari wearing anything like cologne but it made her think how he managed to attain such a peculiar natural musk.

It was possibly her sleepy haze that made her think of such things; shaking her head quite violently to rid her mind of any delusions, she took a seat leaning up against the side of the chair Hibari was sat in. Snuggling into the thin blanket, she shut her eyes and drifted off shortly afterwards. She'd regret doing such a thing in the morning but for right now, this was fine.

Hibari made sure to check she was fully asleep before moving. Truthfully he had woken up as soon as her humming stopped but he didn't make himself known for he was curious about what she was doing. Although suddenly waking up when she was preoccupied with playing his hair through her fingers would elicit an amusing reaction, he relented; it was dark and so any kind of expression she made would only be visible in perhaps not even half its original glory.

After confirming that she was completely passed out, and being thankful for her heavy sleeping habits, he got up whilst peeling the quilt off his lap. Glimpsing shortly at the pitifully thin blanket covering Kouka, he scowled. The night was cold and with such a flimsy thing it would surprise if she caught a cold. Whipping the sorry excuse for a blanket off the girl, strewing it onto the floor somewhere, he laid the thicker quilt over her and took a seat beside her.

While feeling her body against his was somewhat distracting, he didn't make much of it as he shuffled to get comfier. He'd much rather be laying down, the floor wasn't comfortable in the least. Still, being able to get so close to Kouka, even having a hand on her hip, was good enough a reason for him to be down there.

He fell asleep hopelessly easy after his thoughts wandered from the explanation in the morning to pitch blankness.
