Tsuna was subjected to a lot of pain every time he ran into Hibari. Sometimes a tonfa would just come flying at his head out of nowhere. What did he do that was so bad!? Surely Hibari would be used to a little destruction after everything!
He tried asking Reborn, but the hitman wouldn't tell him anything.
Except the girl's name and class.
He did want to apologise but wouldn't it be awkward? More so for her as apparently Gokudera and Yamamoto wanted to tag along.
Nervously, he knocked on the girl's classroom door earning the attention of those inside. He didn't spy the girl inside at first, but he just guessed it was because he didn't really remember her face.
A boy came up to them to hear what they were there for.
"Um... Is a girl called Shi... Shimizu... Kyo-Kouka? Is she here?" Tsuna gave up on trying to remember if her name was Kyouka or Kouka.
"Hm? Shimizu-san? Hold on." The boy answered before calling out to the class, asking if Shimizu was here. His reply was a chorus of "No"'s and "I don't know"'s but a single girl scurried over to the boy and the three visitors with an uneasy smile.
"Uh... If you're looking for Shizu-chan then I'd go to the reception room. She said she was going there to give something to Hibari-san or something." The girl didn't seem comfortable and neither did the trio. Seriously? They had to willingly go to the Demon King's lair- actually why was this girl going on her own free will anyway?
Tsuna was beginning to think there was more to Hibari's rage than just destroying the music room.
They had to be related.
He never really took an interest in Hibari's private life - mostly because he could guess what his hobbies were - but after thinking about the boy's family, he never really thought that Hibari would have a sibling. He didn't know why though.
Does that mean the girl is as violent as Hibari? He shivered unconsciously, why did Reborn have to make everything so difficult for him.
They were walking back to their own class now, a little weary from figuring out where the girl was. He'd wait till lunch to apologise.
"I didn't think Hibari had many friends..." Yamamoto uttered finally, blissfully unaware of how harsh his words probably sounded.
"Do the disciplinary committee even count?" Tsuna sweat dropped, "I was thinking they were related."
Gokudera seemed to agree. "Yeah, there's no way a girl would visit that guy willingly." He suddenly grinned, inconspicuously pulling out a few sticks of dynamite, "Don't worry Tenth! If that guy attacks you again I'll divert his attention so you can escape!" It didn't make Tsuna feel better knowing that even Gokudera admitted to being weaker than the prefect.
"Hahaha~!" Yamamoto jumped up between the both of them and slugged his arms around their shoulders. "Good luck, Tsuna!"
Meanwhile Kouka was presenting her peace offering and apologising for the destruction of the music room for the twentieth time. The peace offering being a cupcake with a little flag, written on it the word 'Sorry'.
In her prostrate position she didn't see the disgruntled expression on his face. How many cupcakes did he have now? Fair enough they were tasty, but wasn't this a little overboard? It wasn't like it was her fault anyway.
He still ate it.
"I already said it had nothing to with you, stop apologising for them." He huffed, leaning back into his chair and spinning a pencil.
She looked up at him with the most daring puppy eyes and it seriously had his stomach jumping and heart leaping. How was she managing to be so cute? It brought some rather conflicting feelings.
He sighed, "Then there's something I want you to do." Standing up, he made his way over to the sofas, pulling her up from the floor as he did so. She seemed confused until he dragged her to sit with him before plopping his head onto her lap.
Kouka stiffened a little when he stared at her waiting for her to start singing. Curse his strong and beautiful eyes.
She started quietly and gradually got the tiniest bit louder, continuing even when Hibari was asleep.
He liked her voice because it was soft and quiet. Even when asleep it was soothing and didn't startle him awake. It wasn't rough and it suited her perfectly, gentle and kind. Her warm legs and her fleeting touch running through his hair. Hibari fell asleep easily.
Kouka was a little paranoid about not attending class, and surprised that Hibari actually condoned such a thing, but she was also wondering about whether this was sufficient enough. She did have a part in destroying the music room... somehow. She was there at least. So she thought that she should at least pay the school and help in some way, not earn forgiveness from a lap pillow.
Hibari did mention all the repairs being taken care of and the room being fixed already - how? She didn't know. Still, she felt guilty.
So she waited anxiously as classes passed and lunch came.
Tsuna was heartbroken to hear she wasn't in class and still at the reception room. Did the Gods want him to suffer so badly?
Resigning to his fate, he set off alone towards his death. He was beginning to think 'guardian' meant nothing short of 'person to be terrified of'. With Gokudera, Mukuro, and Hibari, he wondered if any of his supposed guardians were normal. Yamamoto clearly wasn't, being the carefree but potential hitman he is. He didn't even need to mention Lambo, and Chrome - well she was somewhat normal despite being a little reserved, she was with Mukuro though so he couldn't really let his guard down.
Yeah normal.
He knocked as quietly as he could and opened the door to the room, only to pale when he saw Hibari sleeping... on that girl's lap. Did siblings do that? He didn't know anymore!
"A-Ah..." He stuttered, garnering the girl's attention. Her head whipped to the door, startled. Also embarrassed, she was seen in such a way... "So...Sorry!?" Tsuna muttered in a panic, trying to muffle his voice as much as possible - Hibari was too light of a sleeper after all.
Kouka shook her head silently, a light blush crossing her cheeks as she offered a tiny smile.
"Shimizu-san, right...?" She nodded. "S-Sorry for the other day..." Tsuna apologised again, desperate to leave whatever this situation was. Actually now he thought about it, her last name wasn't Hibari so they couldn't have been related... Ah. As he looked between the girl and Hibari he noticed little details he didn't before during his frenzy.
She was brushing her fingers through his hair still while, what looked to Tsuna, holding his hand that was propped against her leg. That wasn't a family thing was it. Because if they were... together... then it would explain Hibari's anger the other day.
"Um..." He murmured, "Are you and Hibari-san perhaps..." He didn't need to finish his question for her to understand it and vehemently shake her head embarrassedly. Her bright red face betrayed her feelings however. "O-Oh..." Tsuna smiled awkwardly, taking a quick look around before clumsily backing up, saying, "W-Well I'd best... be going...!"
He fled very quickly, that was possibly the most dangerous thing he'd done in a while.
