My Knight In Shining Bones (Sans x Reader)

Chapter Three

As I looked around, I saw two skeletons looking down at me. One had a more joyous and goofy look to him, while the other looked concerned.

Last thing I remember...

... I have collapsed in the snow.

Did these two save me?

"Relax. You're safe now." The shorter skeleton said.

His words reassured me.

But just slightly.

"How did I get here?" I questioned.

"THAT'S EASY TO ANSWER! MY BROTHER SANS BROUGHT YOU HERE!" The taller skeleton explained.

... Sans...?

"Wait, you're Sans?!" I questioned.

"Yeah... Who's asking? A fan?"

"SANS, WHY WOULD YOU HAVE FANS? YES, YOU ARE AMAZING! BUT NOT NEARLY AS FABULOUS AS I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS!"

So... This is Mother's friend...

... Mother...

"Hey, you okay? You look a bit down." Sans questioned.

"No. I'm not. My mother... She sent me away... To protect me... She said to come to you... Said you'd protect me..." I explained, a few tears falling down my face.

"LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID SANS! YOU MADE HER CRY!" Papyrus scolded.

"Who's your mother?" Sans questioned.

"... Toriel..."

So, my assumptions were correct...

... This girl is (y/n); princess of the underground...

If Toriel sent her, then you know something bad happened. Toriel loves her daughter with all her heart. She's told me countless times how she would hate to send her away.

... Just what is going on in the ruins...?!

"YOUR MOTHER IS THE QUEEN!? THEN THAT MUST MEAN THAT YOU'RE THE PRINCESS!" Papyrus exclaimed in shock.

(y/n) quickly shushed Papyrus.

"Please be quiet. I don't want anyone to know that I'm the princess. I need you two to keep this a secret." (y/n) pleaded with us.

"OH, OKAY! PAPYRUS PROMISES TO KEEP YOUR SECRET SAFE WITH ME!" Papyrus promised.

(y/n) smiled.

"Thank you."

"If you don't mind me asking... What exactly happened in the ruins to make your mother send you away?" I questioned.

"A human fell into the ruins. We had planned to take care of any human that fell into the ruins, but Mother said that this child was different... That they were full of evil intentions... A human... That would kill monsters..." (y/n) explained.

A shiver went down my spine.

If what she says is true... Then there's no way Toriel will be able to stop the child... She won't be able to bring it in herself to kill a child...

... Does (y/n) know this?

In case she doesn't, I won't bring it up.

"But there's nothing to worry about, right? Mother's strong. She won't let a mere child stop here. She even promised me that she'd be there for me when I go back for her. There's nothing to worry about." (y/n) explained, hope visible in her voice.

... Hope that will one day be shattered...

... Poor kid...

"So, your mother said that I'd protect you, right?" I questioned.

"Yeah. That's right. Will that be a problem?" (y/n) explained.

"No. Not at all. Don't worry, I'll keep you safe." I reassured (y/n).

(y/n) smiled, before doing something to take me off guard.

She hugged me.

"Thank you... Thank you so much..."

I smiled.

"Anytime, Kid. Now, how about you get some rest? You still need to recover from the cold."

(y/n) nodded as she pulled away.

"Okay. Is it okay if I use the couch as a bed?" (y/n) questioned.

"OF COURSE! IT'S PERFECTLY ALRIGHT WITH US! RIGHT, SANS?"

"You're absolutely correct, brother."

(y/n) thanked us once more before wrapping herself in the blanket and curling into a little ball on the couch.

She was soon asleep.

"I THINK THE PRINCESS MAY BE HUNGRY! I WILL GO MAKE SPAGHETTI FOR HER FOR WHEN SHE WAKES UP!" Papyrus declared.

"Good idea."

"OF COURSE IT IS A GOOD IDEA! I AM THE GREAT PAPRYUS!"

Papyrus then hurried into the kitchen to make the spaghetti.

I then looked down at the princess's sleeping form.

... So...

... This was your last wish, huh? To have your daughter live a happy life...

... As you desire, queen...

... I will keep your daughter safe...

... No matter the cost...

Yay! Another chapter! I must admit... I'm really love writing this story, which is why updates are happening a bit faster than normal. So yeah... I can't promise updates will always be fast, but based on my current excitement for this story... The chapters may come out a bit faster than usual. For example, I've already written through chapter four (haven't started five yet). So yeah... Later! =^-^=
