Chapter Thirteen

"(y/n), please wake up." I heard my father's voice call out to me.

Slowly, my eyes opened up, to see that I was on the surface once more.

My father smiled after seeing that I was awake and alive.

"Thank goodness. I thought I had lost you." Father said, before hugging me.

It took me a second to register what was happening, but I soon hugged back.

Until...

"Father! We have to save Sans!" I exclaimed.

Father nodded.

"Then let us depart."

We then slowly and carefully headed down the hill, making sure to not hit any of the weak spots. Luckily for us, I had remembered all the weak areas, so we didn't run into any problems like when I was with Sans.

Once we reached the bottom of the hill, I led my father towards the village where Sans and I had been captured.

"Wait, (y/n)." My father said, stopping me.

"What?" I questioned.

"Wear this." Father said, before handing me a bracelet.

Curious, I put it on.

"What is it?" I questioned.

"A bracelet made by Alphys. This bracelet allows the wearer to transform into a human. It runs on an internal battery, so it will never run out of power. Though once you take it off, you will go back to your monster form." Father explained.

"Why're you giving this to me." I questioned.

"To allow you to have a good life. All the monsters are dead. You and Sans are the only survivors. You won't survive in a world full of humans. But, despite this... Please don't forget your monster origins." Father said, his voice getting weaker with each word he said.

"Wait... I'm confused. You're alive... Why're you acting like..."

That's when I saw it.

A poison-tipped knife was in Father's side. It was hidden under his clothing, so I couldn't originally see it.

"Father... You..."

"Don't worry, I have another bracelet for your friend Sans." Father said, before handing me another bracelet.

"But... You're going to... No... I can't lose you too!" I said, tears coming to my eyes.

"I'm not deserving of your love... You and your mother were the best things in my life... And yet I treated you two so poorly... I'm sorry... I love you... My dear daughter..."

Father then fell to the ground, and turned into dust.

Father...

... FATHER!

I tried everything to bring him back. Poison healing... Healing of wounds... I even tried my resurrection magic...

... Nothing worked...

... He's gone...

... For good.

Why must this be happening to me? What did I do to deserve this?

I... I hate the humans... But this can't change the fact that I need to rescue Sans, and try to live a normal life... As a disgusting human...

I then pressed the small (Favorite color) jewel on the bracelet, and I was instantly a human. I had (appearance) with (clothing style).
