(y/n)

When I awoke, I felt a warm presence around me. I opened my eyes, to see something I didn't expect.

I saw the sun.

That must be the warm presence that I was feeling.

"Good. You're awake." I heard a familiar voice say.

I turned to face Sans, who looked very tired.

"Did you stay up all night?" I questioned.

"Yeah. Had to make sure you were safe." Sans explained before yawning.

That's when the memories of the night before came rushing back.

Father... Sent me away... To keep me safe...

My face instantly turned into a frown.

Sans must've seen this, because he pulled me in for a hug.

"Don't worry, (y/n). Everything will be just fine. Your father cared about you. That's why he sent you away."

After a while of hugging, we both pulled away.

"Guess you're right." I said before wiping away a tear.

"Of course, I'm always right." Sans said in a know-it-all tone.

"Sure..." I said with an eye-roll.

Sans and I had a quick laugh, before we decided to discuss our next plan of action.

"Should we head down the mountain?" I questioned.

"That seems like the only logical option. We'll eventually starve if we don't." Sans answered.

"Okay. Then let's go." I said, before taking a shaky step down the mountain.

Though I just had to step on a weak spot, and I started to plummet down the mountain.

"Sans!" I screamed out for help.

Sans was quick to use his magic to stop my descent, and lift me back up to him.

"You should be more careful." Sans semi-scolded.

"Sorry." I apologized.

"It's fine. Let's get going, but with more precautions. Take my hand." Sans said, before holding out his hand.

I took it, with a light blush on my face.

Slowly and carefully, Sans and I headed down the mountain, with Sans taking the lead.

"Will we ever come back?" I questioned.

Sans didn't answer.

"Sans?"

Sans still didn't answer.

He probably doesn't want to answer truthfully since I'll hate what he has to say...

... Sweet guy...

Sans

I feel bad for (y/n). She's young, yet has gone through so much. I don't get how anyone could handle what she's going through. She's a strong one, that's for sure.

We soon reached the base of the mountain, where we quickly found civilization. Along the way, we had been silent for a majority of the trip.

... And it had been really awkward and uncomfortable...

"Hey! Who are... WHAT ARE YOU!?" I heard a human shout.

(y/n) and I turned to face a terrified-looking human.

"Please, you have to help us! My family... My civilization..."

The human cut (y/n) off by running away.

"Hey! Wait!" (y/n) called out before running after the human.

"(y/n), stop!" I called out, running after her.

But (y/n) didn't stop, and it took all my willpower to not fall behind. She's a fast one, that's for sure.

When (y/n) finally stopped, I was able to catch up with her. But then I realized the reason why she stopped.

At least ten humans had weapons out like swords and guns, and they were all aimed for (y/n).

"Monster! Come into custody peacefully, or else we'll be forced to get violent." One threatened.

(y/n) looked beyond terrified. She was completely paralyzed.

I quickly got in front of (y/n), and summoned my bone weapons.

"(y/n), run." I demanded.

Those words seemed to bring (y/n) back to reality.

"No! I won't leave you! If I'm going to die, then I'm going to die with you!" (y/n) declared.

(y/n)...

The humans then began to attack, and I did my best to defend (y/n).

Soon I felt my body becoming swifter and stronger, and I felt like I could endure a thousand hits.

"I may not be a strong monster, but I'm very good at support magic and healing! Don't worry, I'll keep you safe!" (y/n) explained.

I smiled back to (y/n), before continuing to attack the humans.

For a while, it seemed like we were going to win, until another human showed up. They looked much more skilled then the rest, and my worries were proven correct when with one shot, they hit (y/n).

She instantly fell to the ground. She didn't look injured, but did look like she was going to pass out any second.

They must've used some sort of tranquilizer on her.

I turned to fight this human, only to be shot as well.

Drowsiness instantly hit me, and my body started to fail me.

... (y/n)...

... I'm so sorry...

... I failed you...

Thump.

Hello. Hope you're still enjoying the story! Listen, I hate to say this... But... I'm going to be moving in a week, and will have to pack the computer that I use to update my stories (including this one). The meaning of this...? Quite simple. I won't be able to update until I get the computer unpacked once we move. I don't know when it'll be packed, but it'll be soon. I hope you can understand. Later! =^-^=
