Aftermath

Peace was finally restored. Sonic the Hedgehog was already busy running away from the broken city of Mobius to enjoy his freedom.

"That's Sonic for you now." Kenneth Takahashi laughed. He, as a doctor has just finished helping the citizens with their injuries. His other Regalia, Tails just looked at his blue friend speeding off.

"Well, he's always in a hurry to enjoy the view after a terrible war."

"I'm glad that my house is alright. I don't think anyone here has a house large enough to squeeze all of my gang."

"Speaking if which though, where are the rest of the clan, my lord?"

"Some just head back home, others are already busy making plans to go out like Sonic."

"Now that the war is over, we can finally relax!" Tails sighed out.

"Well, but it's not relaxing for Regalias. You guys still have to deal with the Phantoms."

"Right..."

Meanwhile, in Doctor Eggman's base...

"This is outrageous! I can't believe my Phantom Ruby powered Death Egg got destroyed again!" The bald headed doctor was stomping his foot in his base.

"At least you have escaped to carry out your next plan, boss." Orbot was next to his creator.

"What plan?! That Phantom Ruby was supposed to be the ultimate weapon to finally Sonic along with his Master and his pesky little friends!"

"I should have never counted on that Infinite... He should have just defeated Sonic and that four eyed kid!"

The formal Squad Jackel leader overheard this conversation. He continued hearing on how Eggman was planning to torture every single one of his members as revenge.

"If you're going to hurt them, you'll get through me first!" Infinite, which had his mask off was eyeing Eggman with a vicious look in his blue and Amber yellow eyes.

"As you wish, my dear old 'friend'." In that instant, a laser cannon fired a laser beam towards the Jackal (I don't know what species he is cuz I am following what wiki says)

Infinite was barely hanging onto life. The laser did a considerable amount of damage onto him, and I'd the wound was not treated as soon as possible, his life will end in an unknown place in the desert.

'Why...did I even join him?'

Meanwhile, back in Mobius...

The little red wolf who had helped saved the world was preparing to take off to help others. There was still one matter that needed to be taken care off.

Where is Infinite now? He just disappeared in a flash of red during their last battle, and no one knows whether he is dead or not. Gadget the wolf decided he should investigate further. He heard that squad Jackal was living somewhere in the desert, could Infinite be there?

"Finally! I definitely deserve a break from that war." Karan Takahashi had his backpack full of things packed and ready. He was heading off the city to check out some new places he have never seen before. "I guess I can leave the rest to Ni-san and the others while I escape from my duties."

Waving his siblings goodbye, he then headed off to the desert direction. He was curious to try walking in a field of sand. On his way, Mobius citizens were moving back to their houses, the Chaotix Detective squad helping the citizens repairing the houses. As much as Karan want to travel, something on his mind.

'That Infinite... He just disappeared according to what Sonic says... Wonder where is that dude now?'

During that final battle, his siblings did help battle a few of the clones that the Phantom Ruby cooked up. He didn't. He fired his Regalia who was spying on the Ki clan. All he did was help tend to the injured resistance members.

With all that mind, he headed off to the baking hot desert, hoping that no Phantoms will pop out and ruin his vacation.

He was at the end of the city when he spotted the Mobius hero.

"Well well, Sonic the Hedgehog." Karan went closer to the blue hedgehog who stopped the moment someone called his name. "Running away?"

"You as well Lord Karan. Where are you heading?"

"Just heading out of the city to travel, and to escape from my work for the time being." he then came down to a whisper.

"Hahaha...why not I accompany you? After all, you might not be able to defend yourselve?"

Well,excuse me? Just because I'm weapon-less here doesn't mean I can't fight?"

"Right..."

"Well, actually I did have a weapon..." Karan pointed at the expandable  baton hanging at his thigh through a strap.

"But you will need better weapons to get rid of Phantoms right?" Sonic responded as they both head to the desert.

"What a show off..."
