The man sitting next to me licked his lips, "HYDRA doesn't like leaks."

"So why don't you try to stick a cork in it?" The man in the front seat growled. I now learned his name was Sam Wilson.

"Insight's launching in sixteen hours, we're cutting it a little close here." I noticed Natasha tapped her right wrist, almost as if she was motioning to an invisible watch.

"We'll use him to bypass the DNA scans and access the helicarriers directly." Steve commented, fiddling with something in the front seat.

The guy next to me jolted up, "are you crazy? That's a terrible, terrible idea!"

A thud on the roof made me jump, before a hand reached through the window and grabbed the strange man by the collar, yanking him out and throwing him into traffic. A car slammed into him and his guts unzipped over the road, a 'woah' escaping my lips. I had never seen the insides of someone else.

A series of gunshots started ricocheting around and now I was screaming, covering my head. "Steve, what's going on?"

The car slammed forwards as Steve pulled the emergency break, a man clad in black flying off the roof of the car and sliding along the road. As I was about to open my mouth to comment, another car slammed into the side of ours, throwing me out of the seat and flying through the window. Thankfully I was able to roll and land on my feet, my automatic instincts taking over. I watched as the man in black jumped on the car and pulled out the steering wheel.

'The Winter Soldier' my mind told me, some involuntary force whispering to me the name that was too familiar, yet I couldn't remember ever hearing.

Something happened involving Steve, Natasha, and Sam and the car door, but I was paying more attention to the man in black as I kneeled behind an overturned car. When Natasha started shooting at him, a strange feeling of panic shot through me. Not sure wether it was for the sake of the trio, who had now broken up and taken new hiding spots in the street, or the man in black, I chose to stay put snd stay quiet.

"Она у меня. Найди его." The Winter Soldier called, and the voice in the back of my mind whispered again. 'I'll take care of her. Find him.'

Why my mind was suddenly understanding Russian, I had no clue.

Turning, I raced back in another direction, knowing that Steve would personally murder me if he found out that I had hung around this war scene. I ducked inside a building, watching as the fight between Steve and the Soldier advanced in my direction. It was obvious they were equally matched, and I was in awe watching the two fight. That is, until the muzzle over the Soldiers mouth came off. He held tightly to a gun.

Before I knew what I was doing, or even what I was saying or why I was doing this, I had stood and stormed out of the building, my arm raised up angrily. "James Buchanan Barnes you put that gun down right now because if you pop even a single one of your stitches I swear I'll sew your hands together instead!"

My hand flew to my mouth as both men turned to me. I took a step back, scared as to what I had just done. Where had that outburst come from?

Suddenly, as I looked back up, the Soldiers eyes flickered with recognition. "Lilly?"

We both stared at each other for a few seconds, and I swore I've seen those blue eyes before, they looked too familiar. The feeling of loss and the pain of missing someone swelled up in my chest, and I knew that whoever this guy was he meant a lot to me.

A gunshot pulled both of us out of our stupors, Steve standing there still staring at 'James'. "Bucky?"

The darkened look fell over his eyes. "Who the hell is Bucky?"

Sam swooped in over my head, knocking the Soldier to the side, and Natasha shot a grenade at him. As the smoke cleared, my breath caught in my throat as I realized he was gone.

Turning, I bolted through the building and out into another cleared street of Washington DC, and started my sprint back towards the center city.

When I turned a corner I ran smack into someone else, falling on my back with an 'oomph'.

"Wesley!" Someone shrieked, lifting me up off the ground and spinning me in a hug. "I found you! Where have you been, you've been gone for hours!"

Tony set me down, grasping at my face and checking me over, licking his thumb in order to wipe dirt off my cheek. "You're absolutely filthy, I can't believe this. Bruce will have a fit when he realizes we called him out here for no reason."

"Brucie's here?" I asked, following the eccentric billionaire as he started strutting down the street, obviously knowing where he was going.

"Of course he's here," he scoffed, "we called him down when you disappeared. We needed another set of eyes."

"I found the Smithsonian! And Steve and his friends! They found a bad guy, and there was this other guy who had that sad trash hobo eyeliner going on, they said his name was Bucky, he was pretty cool. He had a metal arm!" I mused, listing off things as to how my day had went as we walked down the busy streets.

When a businessman tried to break between us, Tony grabbed my hand tightly as he passed, seemingly determined not to lose me again.

"This has been pretty cool so far," I smiled, looking up at the buildings, "I think I'm really gonna enjoy Washington."
