When Roman and Virgil were ready enough in a sense, they decided to adopt a child. Little did the two know how troublesome she'd be when she was a toddler. Their daughter, Serenity, at the age of six, was very well behaved and then out of nowhere she would behave badly.
Virgil was sitting in his bedroom, waiting for Roman to get back from the store. He had just put Serenity on timeout in her room for colouring on the walls rather than on paper. Virgil wasn't about to admit it to Roman, but he felt like a bad dad. He couldn't figure out why Serenity behaved the way she did, and it was driving Virgil crazy. Whenever Serenity misbehaved, she'd yell at and hit Virgil whenever Roman wasn't home.
Roman came back from the store, holding a bag. He put the bag in the kitchen then went into his bedroom. Roman smiled at Virgil, who returned a slight smile. The princely-man sat down beside his lover, knowing something was up. "Love, what's wrong?" Roman asked, wrapping his arm around the younger male's shoulders. He frowned when Virgil started to cry. Roman wrapped his other arm around Virgil, pulling the smaller male closer. "Virgil, are you okay..?" Virgil sniffled and put his head in the crook of Roman's neck. "Virgil, what's wrong?" Roman asked. The smaller male didn't respond, and just wrapped his arms around Roman.
Roman pulled away and cupped Virgil's face with his hands. He wiped the tears that were rolling down the younger male's cheeks with his thumbs. "Virgil, tell me what's wrong."
Virgil let out a sigh. "Nothing.." He lied. Roman expectantly at Virgil, knowing that he lied. Virgil sighed again. "I'm just... upset."
Roman ran one of his hands through Virgil's hair, making Virgil calm down a bit. "About what, Love?" He asked.
"Am..." Virgil looked down as he felt more tears rolling down his cheeks. Roman tilted Virgil's head back up gently, making the younger one look at him. "Am.. I a bad dad...?"
Roman's eyes widened. "Virgil, you're a great dad!" He said, smiling reassuringly. "I think that you're a great dad."
"But Serenity doesn't.." Virgil muttered. "She doesn't like me. She yells at me and hits me... like I'm not.. good enough."
Roman leaned in close to Virgil's face, rubbing his nose against Virgil's. "You are good enough," he said. "I think you're good enough, Patton and Logan think you're good enough, Serenity thinks you're good enough." Roman smiled at Virgil and placed a soft kiss to his lips. "I love you, Virgil,"
Virgil smiled. "I love you too, Ro,"
