I yawn as I slowly awake, the sound of voices coming from outside of my room pulling me from my sleep. Carefully, I stand up and step from my room, finding Stark, Cap and Loki standing in the foyer, speaking lowly.

"It doesn't matter why she left. All that matters is that she's alive!" Loki snaps at Stark, "For all we know she could have been trying to help."

"She dyed her hair and was taking a bus to Maine!" Stark exclaims, "I don't think she was trying to help anyone but herself."

"Listen, you're both right, but we have to focus on what's important," Cap adds, "And that's figuring out who that woman is and why she attacked Aidan."

Stark nods, his eyes still on Loki. "Alright, but I want you to keep an eye on her. Don't let her out of your sight."

"I had already planned on it," Loki grits, crossing his arms.

"Let's go, Cap," Stark orders as he walks to the elevator. Both men step into the elevator, the doors closing behind them.

Loki sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"I really screwed up, didn't I?" I sigh, making Loki's head shoot up to look at me. He quickly walks towards me, wrapping his arms around me tightly and I gasp before returning the hug, tightly gripping the back of his t-shirt.

"It doesn't matter."

"Yes it does. I broke everyone's trust, almost died and tried to run away all because I was scared."

"What were you afraid of? You could have come to me."

I shake my head as a lump forms in my throat, feeling my chest rise and fall quickly as it becomes harder to breathe.

"I was scared of myself," I chuckle weakly, "Scared of caring."

"What?"

"I'm scared that I'll fall in love with you!" I shout, backing away slightly from him, "I'm scared that I'll end up caring about everyone else too."

He furrows his brows, placing a hand on my shoulder watching as I breathe in shakily and tears roll down my cheeks.

"Anyone I have ever cared for or loved has either died or left me for dead," I say quietly, my voice quivering.

"I'll never leave you and neither will anyone else," Loki sighs, "And no one is going to die anytime soon."

I bite my lip in frustration, shaking my head.

"What if I explode? What if I explode just like all of the other times and kill all of you?"

"Wha-

"I've killed so many people I cared for, Loki," I frown, taking another step back, "That's why I don't have my inheritance, because I can't even control what I have now. Can you imagine if I could never die and have indestructible armour?"

He says nothing, his face expressionless as I continue.

"That's why I was going to leave. Not for me, but for all of you."

Loki sighs, stepping forward and gently grabbing my face with both of his hands. We look each other in the eyes, saying nothing for what feels like an eternity.

"Loki, I-

"Hush," he whispers, "Don't say anything."

I nod, never breaking the eye contact between us, and he smiles, pulling me towards him and connecting his lips with mine. I furrow my brows, gripping the front of his shirt and pulling him closer. After what feels like only seconds, Loki pulls away, both of us panting lightly.

"Aidan."

"Hmm?"

"Promise me you will never leave again. Please."

I smile softly and nod, pulling him into another hug, "I promise."

"Mischief, it's time to wake up," I whisper, shaking Loki's shoulder lightly.

"No," he groans, pulling me onto the bed with him, "Time for you to go to sleep."

I laugh, trying my best to pull away from him, but eventually giving up, straddling his waist and chuckling.

"Who's got who now?" I ask sarcastically, leaning forward and planting a soft kiss to his forehead.

"Loki, have you seen Murr-" Stark freezes in the doorway, awkwardly laughing and backing away, "I'll just come back later."

I laugh as Tony quickly leaves, closing the door behind him.

"Look what you did," Loki chuckles.

"What I did? You're the one that pulled me onto the bed!"

He grabs my hips and sits us up against the headboard, smirking and wrapping his arms around my back.

"But you're the one that straddled me. Aren't you?"

I hum, pushing away from him and standing up.

"Sorry, Mischief, but I think it's time to get the day started. No more laying in bed!"

Loki sighs loudly as I open the door, walking out of his room and towards my own.
