I shoot awake, gasping for air and feeling sick to my stomach. I wipe the sweat from my forehead before leaning over and vomiting into the trash bin. I gag and spit into the bin before sitting up straight, coughing and wiping my nose as I look around. I was in Banner's lab.
"Ugh," I groan as I slowly stand, growing dizzy once again and falling back onto the bed, "Shit.."
"You're awake," Loki says softly, standing from the chair he had been sitting in, "How are you feeling?"
I wipe my forehead again, feeling like my head was going to explode and I groan, giving him a thumbs up.
"I feel like shit."
He sits next to me, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Bruce found traces of poison in your wound," he explains, "Luckily you removed the dagger when you did or else..."
"I'd be dead? Yeah, I'm used to removing knives and such quickly. You never know what could be on the blade."
"Wait, you've been stabbed before?"
"On various occasions," I chuckle, but groan as my head throbs, "From needles to kitchen knives. If you can stab someone with it. I've been stabbed with it."
"Why would someo-
"Arguments, human testing, bad deals with bad people, crazy family members, me in a fit of rage. I've been around a while so there's been plenty of times. But don't worry, I'm used to it."
He nods, "I'm sorry about earlier. I thought you had the situation under control."
"It's fine, but...if they aren't Kree then what are they?"
"We're not sure yet. Apparently no one ever came out of any of the other ships. We've got no information about who these people are or what they're doing with Kree ships."
"Once I'm healed up we can go back. Maybe actually talk to one of them."
He nods again before standing up and walking towards the elevator, "I'm going to go get Bruce. Let him make sure you're alright."
"I'm fine, Mischief. Just come help me up and I'll be okay."
"Are you sure? Because I can-
"Loki," I interrupt, "All I need is some tea, food and your company."
He smiles, walking to me and helping me stand. I places my arm on his shoulder as he gently wraps his arm around me. I press the button once we entered the elevator and the short trip ends quickly, letting us step out and into the kitchen.
"Here," he says before carefully lifting me up onto the counter, "What would you like to eat?"
"First things first, I'll have some of your amazing tea," I chuckle, "And some aspirin."
He nods, filling the kettle and placing it on the stove to heat up.
"While that's preparing, what can I make you to eat?" He asks as he walks to the refrigerator, "And with my tea you won't need aspirin."
"How about a salad," I grin as Loki looks up to me with a smile.
"Alright," he says softly, "I think I'll have one as well."
"Can I help?" I ask, watching as he sets all of the ingredients onto the counter next to me.
"Of course," he chuckles, helping me down from the counter, "What do you want to be in charge of?"
"Well....I've never actually made a salad so...maybe you can just show me?"
He nods and smiles, grabbing a knife from a nearby drawer, "Let's start with the lettuce."
"Okay."
Loki spends an hour teaching me to make a salad. We talk and make really dumb jokes as we throw the ingredients together, but it's nice. Something so simple and yet, it was the most fun I had had in a long time.
****
"Thank you, Loki," I sigh, dying down from laughter, "This was a lot of fun."
"I'm glad you enjoyed it," he smiles as he stands up from the floor.
I decided on where to eat and I of course chose to sit on one of the balcony floors.
"Stay right here," he orders as he grabs our dishes, "I'll be right back."
With that, Loki rushes towards the kitchen and soon enough, he returns with a small box. He sighs, sitting next to me once more and handing me the box.
"What's this?" I slowly open the box, peeking inside, "Chocolates?"
He nods, "They're my favourite."
"What should I start with?" I ask, watching as Loki's face lights up in excitement. He grabs a small square shaped chocolate from the box.
"Open up."
I do as he says, chuckling as he places the small chocolate into my mouth. I chew slowly, taking in the flavour.
"That's amazing!" I exclaim, looking at him, "What was that?"
"Just a simple, dark chocolate square," he answers with a smile, "Here."
He reaches out his arm, swiping his thumb across my bottom lip. He withdraws his arm, sucking the chocolate off the end of his thumb.
"All better."
I smile, feeling my face grow warm, "Th-thanks."
He hums, placing a hand against my cheek, "You're warm."
"Aren't I always?" I ask as his thumb caresses my cheekbone.
"Yes, but it's more than usual. Are you blushing?"
I shake my head lightly, "Now, why would I be blushing?"
"Perhaps it's because of me?" He questions, adjusting so that he was closer to me.
"And if it were?"
"It would prove that you care for me," he smirks, moving even closer to me so that our legs touched.
"Loki..." I whisper as he leans in close to me.
Loki hums as he presses his lips against my own and I lean forward into the kiss, closing my eyes. Gripping the bottom of his shirt, I deepen the kiss, nibbling at his lip. But as quickly as it began, the kiss ends as I hear footsteps and pull away in a panic.
"What's wro-
"Aidan....you're awake?" Tony asks, interrupting Loki.
"Sure am," I answer with a cracked voice.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm perfect," I nod, standing up too quickly and growing dizzy, losing my balance and falling into Tony, "Sorry."
"It's fine," he smiles, helping me stand again, "Maybe you should go see Bruce?"
"No. I think I just need some rest."
He nods, stepping from the doorway to let me pass and I turn to face Loki one last time.
"Thank you, by the way. I really appreciate everything."
Loki nods, "Always."
I smile, making my way to my room slowly. I sigh, falling onto my bed and closing my eyes.
Shit....
