"Mischief," I laugh lightly as tears roll down my cheeks, "I-

Loki pulls me into a hug, tightly wrapping his arms around me with my own arms trapped to my sides. He holds the hug for a few minutes before pulling back and resting his hands on my shoulders.

"Loki, wha-

He muffles my words as he roughly presses his lips against my own, breathing shakily with his hands cupping my face.

I gasp for air once he finally pulls away, looking me up and down.

"You're alive," he whispers, his eyes glazed over with tears, "And you have your armour.....a-and horns."

He reaches up, pressing his finger against the tip of what must have been a horn.

"I- I do?" I question, looking down at myself and touching my head. Two small horns were just below my hairline and I wore dark red armour carved with tribal designs with a helmet strapped to my side, "I guess the inheritance required my death."

Loki smiles, pulling me into another hug, "I thought you were gone."

I groan as his grasp tightens around me, "I can't breathe, Loki."

He lets go quickly, "Right. Immortal doesn't mean zombie."

I chuckle, wiping a tear from his cheek, "Exactly. Ya know...you're really good at expressing yourself."

"What can I say....even in death you helped me do something I've never done before," he sighs, "But you're never dying again."

I smile, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear, "It's impossible now. So you don't have to worry about that ever happening again."

"Good."

We say nothing as we stare into each other's eyes. Finally, after what must have been ten minutes, I break the silence.

"Let's go home," I stand, holding out my hand. He nods, taking my hand and letting me help him up with ease, and I watch as he dusts himself off, smiling once he takes my hand into his own.

"Let's go home."

"Sorry about getting you all dirty," I giggle, picking a pebble of dirt from his hair, "You look nice, though."

"Its not like I just showered or anything, but thanks. So do you."

"I honestly like what you had made me more, actually," I admit, looking down at my armour again, "But I guess this will work."

"I think it suits you well. Very well. Even the horns."

"Yeah, I'm hoping those go away or something."

The rest of our walk is spent in a comfortable silence, our hands never unlocking for a single second.

I sigh once we stand in front of the tower, "I wonder how everyone will react?"

"Well, they'll definitely be surprised," Loki chuckles, "I bet Stark will cry."

"Did he ever even like me?" I ask as we step inside the elevator, pressing the button to the third floor.

"I'm pretty sure he did. Either way I bet he'll cry like a baby."

"How much?"

He hums, tapping his chin with his index finger, "$20 and dinner?"

"Deal," I smirk, shaking his hand just as the elevator stops and the doors open, "Should I hide in my room while you get everyone?"

"Yeah."

I smile as I run into my bedroom. My bed was neatly made up and it smelled of cinnamon and wine. I sigh, sitting on the bed, and after about five minutes, I finally hear Loki.

Time to make everyone cry.

Everyone but Stark...

We'll see about that.

I grin, quietly opening my door and stepping into the foyer, finding everyone standing with their backs to me.

Say something...

Like what?

Whatever comes to mind.

I step a bit closer before speaking quietly, "Hey."

Everyone quickly turns around in surprise, saying nothing as they process my presence.

"This isn't a joke, right?" Natasha asks as she begins to cry, "It's not an illusion?"

"I'm no illusion," I chuckle, rocking back and forth on my heels, "Apparently I had to die before I could become immortal, but look! I've got this super cool armour and horns!”

"Dammit, Murray!" Stark shouts, a single tear rolling down his cheek, "I spent so much money on that casket and headstone! And then you're just gonna walk in here like you never died and not even hug me?!"

I breathe in to shout back before stopping myself, "What?"

"Get your back-from-the-dead ass over here and hug me, dammit!"

I scoff, walking to him and hugging him closely. After a moment, he pushes me away and wipes his cheek, and I chuckle, patting him on the shoulder.

You owe me..

$20 and dinner, I know.

"How about a group hug?" Loki chuckles and everyone nods, pulling me into a tight hug, everyone but Loki, and I glare at him as they all wrap their arms around me.

I'm going to kill you!

No you're not..

I groan as everyone lets go of me, breathing heavily as I stand next to Tony, "Can I borrow $20?"

Tony raises an eyebrow as he takes out his wallet, handing me a one hundred dollar bill.

"That works," I sigh, walking to Loki and tucking it into his shirt pocket, "We're going to have company for dinner."

"That's fine," he grins, cupping my cheek with his hand, "Still so warm."

I hum, leaning into his touch, "Still so cold."

"And that's still a good thing?" He whispers, rubbing his thumb across my cheek.

"It's refreshing. You're like my own personal ice pack."

"And you're like my very own electric blanket," he smirks, tilting my head back slightly. His eyes growing dark as he leans down to kiss me softly.

I moan quietly, draping my arms over his shoulders. I slowly push away, shakily breathing through my nose, "I'm going to go take a shower."

He nods, running his hands down my arms before holding my hands, "May I join you?"

I chuckle, twisting around and throwing him to the floor, "Not this time, Mischief."

He stays still as I walk into my room to grab fresh clothes before stepping into the bathroom and turning on the cold water, stepping under the stream. I looked around, checking to see if the water was evaporating and I chuckle, watching as the water runs down my arms and chest.

It feels so good to be back...

It's good to have you back..
