After taking a long shower and slipping into a fresh outfit; a much-too-big t-shirt and sweat pants. I step out of the bathroom while towel drying my hair. I throw the towel into a hamper, but wince after scraping my arm against the wall.
"Shit!" I hiss, cradling my arm.
"You alright?" Starks voice comes from behind me.
I stand up straight, still holding my arm, "I'm fine. Just hit my arm."
"You look rough," he pauses and exhales loudly, "I'll try to get Banner down here to look at you. Get some bandages on those arms. Ya know... you really shouldn't pull on chains like that."
"No shit," I scoff, "You're lucky I didn't try to melt the chains. And trust me, it ran through my mind more than once."
"Wouldn't that...hurt?" He asks, taking his phone from his pocket.
"Fire resistant, Tony," I spit, watching as his fingers tap his screen quickly.
"That's right, fire girl," he chuckles, "Go meet Banner upstairs, five floors up."
"Alright," I sigh, heading towards the elevator.
"Murray," Stark calls, making me stop, "Thanks for not running off."
"I only did it because I wanted a shower," I smirk, "And you still owe me food."
With that, I step into the elevator and press the button for the right floor. Soon the doors open again and I step out, looking around at various computers and cluttered desks.
"Green boy! You in here?" I call out, slowly making my way amongst the monitors.
"I'm here, but just call me Bruce," Banner says, removing his glasses.
"Stark sent me down here," I explain, still holding my arm gently, "Pulling really hard on chains isn't great for the skin. Wish I would've known that before."
Bruce chuckles, slowly and gently examining my arms.
"Yeah, no kidding," he leads me to a table covered in various first aid supplies.
"So you're like...a doctor doctor too?"
He shakes his head, "I decided it would be best to learn some first-aid. With Tony being like a big kid and all. He gets a lot of little injuries."
"That's good to know."
"Yeah," he chuckles, grabbing a bottle of alcohol, "Have a seat."
I hop up onto the table, wincing as my wrist grazes the edge of it.
"Dammit!" I hiss, gripping my wrist as it begins to bleed again, "How many times am I gonna do that?"
"Probably a lot," Bruce chuckles, beginning to wipe my arms down, "This might sting."
As he wipes my arms, the alcohol hits my wounds, causing me to hiss in pain.
"Shit..." I growl, "I really gotta work on my anger."
"Tell me about it," he huffs, wrapping my arms lightly with bandages, "All done."
"Thanks, Bruce," I sigh, hopping from the table, "Where can I get some food around here?"
"Uhh, kitchen. Three floors down,"
"Three down. Got it," I smile, "Thanks again, Brucey."
"Just Bruce!" He yells as I step onto the elevator.
I chuckle, pressing the button and waiting. The short trip ends and I step out onto the new floor. The kitchen was large and bright from the natural light shining through the windows.
"Let's see," I mumble to myself, digging through the large double-doored refrigerator, "What to make, what to make..."
"Salads are usually nice," a smooth voice says from behind me.
I quickly turn around, a ball of fire already in my hands.
"Woah now, easy does it."
"Loki," I state, putting out the fire and looking into the refrigerator once more, "I'm more of an "anything but salad" type of girl."
He chuckles, leaning against the door frame.
"What type of girl are you then?" he asks softly, crossing his arms.
Grabbing what looked to be leftover Chinese and a beer, I close the doors and turn to face him again.
"Spicy," I smirk, heating the food with my hands.
Always have to show off...
"Fire?" He questions as I began to eat.
"Yup. Pretty convenient for heating food, staying warm, destroying small cities. You know...the usual."
He chuckles, running a hand through his long, black hair.
"I like your style," he smirks, standing straight and walking towards me, "What's your name?"
"Murray," I say lowly, throwing the now empty food container away, "Aidan Murray."
"Aidan...I like it."
"Thanks," I smile, grabbing the beer from the counter next to me, "God of Mischief."
"That's me. You're a Goddess, correct?"
"Kind of," I sigh before sipping from my drink, "Have the powers...just not the armour or immortality until I'm worthy enough for it."
"Once you are worthy....what will you be Goddess of?" He asks, standing only a few feet in front of me.
"Well," I begin, chugging the rest of my beer, "My name means Master of Fire. My first name comes from a spin-off of some Celtic God of the sun."
"Fascinating," he hums. "Aidan the Goddess of Fire. Ruler of all."
"I'm more like a "ruler of small towns" Goddess. I'm not sure world domination is my cup of tea."
"Oh, but it could be."
"No. You see, before you can rule the world as a whole, you must make the world fear you. Everyone must be afraid before you can rule them. Control them."
Loki chuckles, "You're smart."
"And," I point at him, "You're locked away right now anyways, aren't you?"
I step closer, sticking my arm through "Loki."
"How did you kn-
"Like you said, I'm smart," I chuckle, walking through Loki's illusion and making it disappear.
Always have to show off...
