When I came out of the bathroom fifteen minutes later, Isy was waiting for me with make up and accesories. I knew she was gonna help me with my makeover, but I didn't think it would me this soon.

"Come on down, its the makeover show," she said like Bob Barker on the Price is Right. "Katie, we're gonna re-make you, but not to much since this is the first time you'll be wearing make up for real." She was so giddy with excitement.

She signaled me to sit down at my dresser. "Close your eyes. I want you to be suprised when I get done."

"Okay, just don't go overboard and make me look like a clown, okay?"

"Why would I ever do a thing like that to my best friend in the whole wide world?" She batted her eye lashes like she was a perfect, little angel.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just don't make me look stupid!" I warned her. Isy just chuckled at me. I closed my eyes dreading the moment when I opened them up again.

Isy first shuffled around a bit. She draped some kind of cover over my shoulders. But after that my mind started drifting. Being here, in the position that I'm currently in, reminded me of my thirteenth birthday. I was pretty much same old me as I an now.

My mom thought I would come out of my shell at age thirteen. And because she thought this, she decided it was time to introduce me to make up.

I was excited at first about it, but once they started 're-making my face, well let's just say I found it hard to be still. And by the time they were done with me, I felt like I was wearing a second layer of skin on my face.

Ever since then I've never taken a liking to make up. It was pretty annoying for me when every girl in my grade started wearing make up. They thought it made them look better, but oh were they wrong. They put on so much of it, they looked like they belonged to a-.

"Katie, are you ready to see what I've done with you?" Isy interrupted my thoughts. For what felt like hours, she was finally done.

"Isy, honestly I'm a litlle scared."

"Don't be. You look fantabulous!" She exclaimed. "Now open your eyes!"

I opened them, and was completely taken by suprise and made speechless. The girl I saw in the mirror was beautiful. She was totally hot. But she wasn't me. She had perfect skin, rosy cheeks, stunning electric blue eyes that stood out against the pink contrast of her skin. And her hair was perfectly tamed, unlike my straight, flat hair that wouldnt hold a curl. Her hair was long and wavy, way past the shoulders, giving off the natural look.

This girl had the same blue eyes and actions as me. This wasn't me, but it was. Does that make any sense? I was completely speechless. It felt like everything slowed, as if in slow motion in an action movie.

I heard the door to my room open, but I didn't turn to see who it was. I couldn't turn my head away from myself. Geez, Isy was right all along.
