Chapter 2: House Visit

Hotarou Oreki's POV

I opened my eyes when I heard the shower. My sister's taking a shower very early today. It is getting hot already. There's no school today because it's a weekend. There's nothing to do. I tried sleeping again but when I realized that I couldn't, I got out of bed. I went down the stairs to find somethig that I can eat. When I finally found some, I sat down and ate. I heard my sister come out of the shower already dressed but she still has a towel around her shoulders. Then the phone rang.

"I'll get it."  my sister said.

"Hotarou! Someone wants to speak to you on the phone."  my sister said. I stood up from my seat and grabbed the phone from my sister's hand.

"Moshi moshi?"

"Um, Oreki-san?" I heard Chitanda's voice on the other line.

"Chitanda?" I said.

"Yeah, it's me." she said.

"Um, can you go to my house right now?" she asked me.

"Sure. Are the others coming?" I asked her.

"Yeah, I already called them." 

"Okay. I'm going now. I just need to take a shower."

"Okay. Bye." she said then she hung up. I put the phone down and went to the bathroom.

Eru Chitanda's POV

"Okay. I'm going now. I just need to take a shower." Oreki-san said.

"Okay. Bye." I said then I hung up. I invited them all to my house today because I want them to have fun at my house with Kumi-chan and to plan an activity for the club. I waited a bit more until the first person  arrived. It was Mayaka-san.

"Chi-chan!" I heard her as she was going inside.

"Mayaka-san, welcome!" I said while smiling.

"Let's go! I have some snacks and tea prepared." I said.

"Sure!" she said. When we got there I heard more people come.

"Wait here. I'll go get the door." I said to Mayaka-san. When I got to the entrance, I saw Fukube-san, Oreki-san, and Kumi-chan together.

"We saw Kumi-chan along the way looking a bit lost." Fukube-san said.

"Gomenasai." Kumi-chan said while bowing.

"No, it's okay. I'm sorry for making you come here on such short notice." I said to them.

"Anyway, Mayaka-san is already waiting. Let's go." I said. When we all got there, I let them eat first before saying what we're going to do today.

"So, what did you call us here for today?" Fukube-san asked.

"I called you here today to plan an activity for the club since we didn't get to do it in school." I said.

"Good idea." Mayaka-san said. 

"So first of all, we should set a goal." I said starting off the meeting.

"Since we're the Classic Literature club, it should have something to do with literature. I have some ideas myself but I want to hear yours first. Who wants to go first?" I asked.

"Hmm... since we're dealing with literature, how about, by the end of the year, each one of us should have composed any form of literature and have it published in the school newspaper." Fukube-san suggested.

"That's a good idea, but what if the newspaper club doesn't want to publish our works? After all, we're not a famous club. And what we did during the festival was to advertise Hyouka." Mayaka-san said.
