Eru Chitanda's POV
"Achoo~!" I sneeze again for the nth time. Here I am lying on my bed in my house. I caught a cold because of the rain yesterday. Mayaka-san and the others must be worried about me.
*knock knock*
"Eru dear, may I come in?" I hear my mother's voice from beyond the doors.
"Mmm." I say softly but loud enough for her to hear. She opens the door and comes in.
"Are you feeling alright now?" she asks as soon as she closed the door.
"I still feel a bit dizzy but, better than before." I say. She smiles at me.
"You should rest more, sweetheart." she says as she takes a seat on my bed and strokes my hair. I gave her a reassuring smile.
"I will." She keeps on stroking my hair.
"I'll just get you some tea to make you feel better." She says and kisses my forehead before standing up and leaving the room. I sigh. I wonder what Fukube-san and the others are doing right now. I sigh again and try to stand up and go to my study table.
I notice the small untouched calendar I have and take a look at it. I flip a page and I saw a day that is marked with a red pentelpen. I look closer to read the date. It's that day... I thought. Should I go? Or should I just let him go and forget about him? I can't just let him go. He's an important person to me. But my parents... how will they feel? I hope they wouldn't be as sad as they were last year. I jump a little to the sound of the door opening.
"Eru, why are you standing? You still need to rest." My mother says full of concern and care.
"I'm alright mom." I say. She puts down the tray she was holding and comes closer to me.
"You can at least sit down." she says, leading me to my bed for me to sit down on. I obediently follow her and just took my seat.
"Here." she gives me a cup of tea and I carefully receive it. I take a sip and it feels like I was in a hot spring.
"I'll just tend to some things outside. You can call anyone if you need any help." my mother says and goes out of the room. I guess I'm left all alone then... again. I finish my tea and try to entertain myself with one of the books I have. I read it on my bed but soon, my eyes felt heavy and I fell asleep.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
*knock knock*
I slowly open my eyes... did I fall asleep?
"Eru, may I come in?" The voice of my mom is again heard.
"Sure." I say weakly. My mother cautiously opens the door.
"I'm sorry. Did I wake you up?" she asked. I shook my head.
"It's alright." I say.
"You have a visitor." she says.
"I think the name is... Oreki?" she adds. O-Oreki-san?! I have a mix of confusion and happiness in me. I'm confused because it was so unlike him to visit, but of course I'm happy because he did. Oreki-san...
