Chapter 19: How To React-Bo's POV

"I think I've fallen in love with you, again," He repeated, adding a word to the end. Again. What the hell was this supposed to mean? 

"What's your angle?" I growled under my breath, not being able to comprehend what Danny was doing. He was taken aback, probably not expecting this response from me. What did he except? For me to go gushy and take him back and all that shit? I'm not making the same mistake I did last time... I didn't want to end up broken like before. I don't think I'd be able to tolerate that again, but isn't this the same feeling that Danny was experiencing after the messy break with Irma? 

"What angle?" He asked, him not having any idea of what I was talking about. "I'm not playing an angle, I swear. I come after you to pour my heart out to you and you react this way?" He questioned, his voice starting to shake. He was going to cry. 

"We just came back into contact, I just don't feel ready," I stated hardly audible, as if I was about to break into tears. No, this isn't what I wanted to happen, not at all.

"I understand," He replied in the same volume as myself. "That's how I felt with you. I just hope that I didn't make a total fool out of myself." I didn't know how to respond to this. 

"There's not reason for you to feel that this was idiotic," I commented. "And the truth is that I'm still in love with you, I just don't feel ready to jump into another relationship."

"I understand," He repeated. He was starting to sound like a robot. I just hope I didn't hurt him beacuse if I did, I'd never be able to forgive myself. 

"But we can still be friends? Right?" I asked, not knowing if he'd want me as a friend after this. He nodded his head ever so slightly. 

"I'd like that," He added. "I should probably be going now, as I recall you have something important to do." Then he took off in an embarressed fashion, like someone had just squirted him with a water hose to ake it look like he peed himself. I'd hurt him, even though he wouldn't let it show. I'll never be able to forgive myself.
