Six

"Your kidding me right?" Candice says from the other side of the table.

I could see the worry in all the girls eyes and I knew that this would be one tough competition. Not only were we going up against the original ALDC but we also had to go up against the girls who left dancing at Debbie Allen's studio and not to mention all the other amazing studios that are gonna be there. It just didn't seem realistic that we would win and if we didn't win we would be devastated. The table grew quite and we all settled into our chairs and ate our food uncomfortably, we couldn't lose to that team no matter what we had to win. We finished eating 45 minutes later and we didn't even stay for cheesecake, we needed to figure out what we were gonna do and how we were gonna win. We took the bus back to the hotel and we ran straight up to Mrs.Fowlers room to tell her what happened. It took a while before she finally understood what we were saying and when she did get it we could tell she was worried too.

"Girls I know this means even more competition but you guys are amazing dancers and you can handle it no matter who is on those teams." Ms.Faith says to us from the other side of the hotel room.

All of us girls and moms nod our heads because we know we are good dancers but this is the Abby lee dance company we are talking about and they have been training and dancing for years. After talking with the moms and Mrs.Fowler and Ms.Faith us girls finally go to our rooms to get some sleep since the competition is tomorrow. But before actually going to sleep all of us girls gather in the middle of one of the rooms and try to cheer each other up about tomorrow.

"You know what Ms.Faith is right we are good dancers and no matter what happens we will get a good score." Mogen says from one of the chairs that she is sitting in at the table in our room.

"Yeah she is right I mean we have been training for just as long as them and even though we don't have Abby as our teacher we are still really good and no one can take that from us." I say to the group suddenly feeling better about or dancing and the competition.

We talk for about ten more minutes until the moms knock on our doors and tells us it's time for lights out. We all head over to our beds and the other girls go to their room. We say goodnight to each other and settle into bed thinking about what tomorrow has for us.

We wake up at what seems to be the crack of dawn and start to get ready. It doesn't take us as long as usual because we don't have to put on makeup and our competition clothes are already packed up in our suitcases. We all take ten minute showers and put on our competition outfit that we were to every competition. A black tank top, black lululemon leggings, and our central city dance jacket with our hair in ponytails. To go with my outfit I slide on my black slip on vans and grab my suitcase and makeup case and roll it to the front door so I don't forget it when it's time to go. It takes all of us girls about an hour and a half to get ready and by that time all the moms and the coaches are ready too. We roll our bags and suitcases into the bus which is parked ready for us to go to the competition and then we pick our seats. Of course I sit with Kaylee and the other girls arrange themselves how they want. As our moms get on the bus we notice bags and cups in all of their hands, they come back to where all of us girls were and hand us each a muffin and a coffee from the Starbucks inside of the hotel and we all say thank you. I got a cookies and cream frappe with a chocolate muffin and Kaylee gets a vanilla bean frappe with a lemon poppy seed muffin. We eat our food and scroll through our social media's with our friends from school telling us good luck or something else sweet. The competition is only 15 minutes away from the hotel so we got there a lot faster than we usually do at other competitions. We park the bus in the back parking lot of the venu and grab all of our things and head inside of the venu to our designated room area. All of us girls walk head of our moms and we start talking about the dances and everything that's happening. As we make our way to our room we hear yelling and screaming coming from one of the other rooms, we all look at each other with weird expressions trying to figure out what was happening.

"Oh my god what the heck is that." Yasmine says as she tries to locate where the argument is coming from.

Just as we were about to answer the door in front of us bust open and we see a blonde haired girl walking out of the room crying. At this point we stop walking and we just stand there watching the scene in front of us unfold.

"Abby how dare you do this to my daughter she deserves to be in that dance." A lady with blonde hair just like the child's says to a bigger built woman.

"Jess, JoJo deserves nothing she is a bratty child and is disrespectful to her teammates and her teachers and I will not allow her to back talk my students and her coaches." Abby says to Jess with an angry face and her fingers pointing back and forth in a sassy way.

"JoJo has more talent then all of those girls in there and they all know that I mean you want them all to act like JoJo and be like JoJo." Jess says to Abby as she holds a crying JoJo in her arms.

"Jess I'm not going to  argue with you in front of these students and dancers in the hallway, JoJo is not dancing today period." Abby says to both of the people in front of her.

I look around and suddenly notice all the cameras and people surrounding Abby and Jess. By now our parents have caught up with us and are watching it with us.

"Abby do you really think I care about these other dancers and moms they all are nothing compared to JoJo and I'm not gonna let you do this to my daughter." Jess says as she looks at us with a disgusted face and then turns back to Abby.

"Excuse me ma'am may we please get past you we have to get ready for he competition." I speak up as I walk towards Abby and Jess.

I turn back around to see all the girls and the moms with surprised looks on their faces. I usually never speak up when stuff like this happens but I was already nervous about the competition and I really wanted to just get to our room and warm up.

"Young lady do you see us having a serious conversation." Jess says to me  in a angry tone.

"Excuse me do not talk to my daughter like that and do not get rude with her, she is simply asking if you could move away so our team could go warm up." My mom says walking up behind me and getting sassy with Jess.

"I'm so sorry for her behavior and I apologize on behalf of the Abby Lee dance company for what you have seen in this hallway." Abby says making room for all of us to go to our room and warm up.

We nod our heads and walk past with our suitcases towards our room. As we walk past Abby, Jess and JoJo I look over to see JoJo rolling her eyes and giving me a rude look. I simply shake it of because she isn't a part of my team and I don't like drama so none of it matters to me. Just as we were about to make it into our room Abby walks up to us and stops us before walking in.

"I'm sorry I know you have to get ready but is it any chance that I could get your name." She says turning her body towards me.

I look over at my mom and she nods her head indicating that I was allowed to tell her.

"I'm Katie Cohen." I say shaking her hand.

"And this is my mom Chanel." I say turning back to my mom and smiling.

By now all the girls are inside of the room getting ready so it's just my mom and I in the hallway.

"Well it's nice to meet you Katie, As you can see JoJo has left the team and I'm look for another dancer."

"I've seen you at other competition and you are an incredible dancer, I'll be watching you on the stage today." She says to me and my mother with a smile on her face.

"Wow thank you Ms.Abby that's really nice, and I promise my dancing is gonna blow you away." I say full of confidence.

"Well okay then I cant wait to see it." She says before shaking my mother and my hand one more time and going back to her room.
